Woods Department/Division Planning -Police Classification Planner I Clerk Typist I Motion seconded by Ray Kaminskas and carried. Pensioners Wes Brettel~ Dan Safes, and Frank Knickerbocker expressed their dis- satisfaction with the Pension Advisory Committee's activities relating to the issue of proposing a requirement for an annual physical exa~ for disability pensioners. The PAC's notice sent to pensioners upset many of the disability pensioners who do not believe the PAC nor the Trustees have the right to require an annual physical. The Committee acknowledge that the notice, intended only to advise employees of their consideration of this as a possibility, was misleading due to poor wording. The pensioners expressed concern over the many related questions that would arise if annoal physicals were to be required and the potential problems that would result if pensions were discontinued due to the "recovery" of pensioners from their disability (questions ,including would the City return the pensioners to their former jobs; what would happen to their seniority, lost promotional opportunities, and benefits status; what if they had lost '!certification" as required by the State; and what if they were re-injured). DiscuBsion'was further directed to the Meindinger Study. Pensioners expressed their concern that the review was paid for from the Pension Fund. It was noted that this Study was authorized by the City Commission, acting as Pension Plan Trustees. Carole Greiner explained the purpose of the study. Members of the Pension Advisory Committee indicated they had not seen the Study until recently. A number of other issues were discussed including the annual "Certification of Pension Entitlement." PAC members and Carole Greiner explained the purpose of the form and the revisions that were made on this year's form. l . " , , I' ,~t. :~::~'Il:.':.'" .L~ :-::; ,." :.",,':,'.(,~I l' ',!'
