02/02/1979 " ~'. ~ Proceedings of the Pension Advisory Committee meeting held February 2. 1979. Present: Betty Ward. Chairman Ray Kaminskas, Member Wesley Brettel, Member R. M. Laursen. Personnel Director and Secretary Joyce Bayerle, City Nurse Chairman Ward called meeting to order at 9:30 A.M. Lt. Brettel moved the minutes of January 4, 1979 meeting be approved. Detective Kaminskas. Motion carried unanimously. Seconded by Pension Advisory Committee held special meeting on January l6, 1979 and appointed the following employees to election committee to handle upcoming election for vacancies on the Pension Advisory Committee. Those appointed were: Mike Stuart Eugene Run t Waymon Pearson Peter Fire Ed Sulek Detective Kaminskas moved that the Pension Trustees accept the following employees who are 'under 45 years of age and have passed a comprehensive physical examination into the pension plan: Employee Rarrison'Morris Department/Division Utilities. Sanitation Classification Sanitation Worker " Detective Kamioskas moved that letter from Mrs. Dick Payne be forwarded to City Attorney Bustin for legal opinion with the recommeodation by the Pension Advisory Committee that Mr. Payne be kept at present pension due to the fact that his retirement date occurred prior to the oew pension law becoming effective. Seconded by Chairman ,Ward and motion carried unanimously. Detective Kaminskas moved that George Walton be allowed to exercise his vested rights (subjct to receipt of resignation by Personnel Office) per his request and that "effective date for receiving pension benefits is computed at 8-28-90, amount to be determine~ by Finance. Seconded by Lt. Brettel. Motion carried unanimously. Secretary Laursen is to write letter to Finance Department regarding George Walton's vested rights., Lt. Brettel moved that the Pension Advisory Committee accept the balance of paper work on Eugene Hunt and approve his disability pension as of date of termination of :'workman's compensation, subject to the Workman's Compensation'Release Form being approved by the City Attorney. Seconded by Detective Kaminskas and motion carried. Chairman was iostructed to send memo from Pension Advisory Committee to City Commission requesting that this be placed on Agenda for app~oval. '" Detective Kaminskas moved that Bobby Kinder be retired, the effective date to be determined according to the 'computations made by Personnel Department. Seconded by Lt. 'Brettel and motion carried. ~ 2 ~ , Pension Advisory Committee Meeting February 2, 1979 Detective Kaminskas moved that Jerry Roberts, Police Officer, be retired effective '^ugust 12, 1979. Seconded by Lt. Brettel and motion carried unanimously. Detective Kaminskas moved that George Jorgenson be 'allowed to exercise his vested rights (subject to receipt of resignation by Personnel Office) per his request and that effective date for receiving pension benefits is September IO, 1987.
