Committee discussed status of'Mr. Zimmerman's pension on his return from Leave of
Absence. Detective Kaminskas'reported on his discussion with the Finance Department
regarding this and Pension Advisory Committee discussed their meeting with Attorney
Bustin regarding his opinion (when an employee takes an approved Leave of Absence
exceeding (4) months, any time beyond four (4) months requires an adjustment of such
employee's pension date, provided the employee left his pension monies in the fund).
Committee asked that Personnel Director notify Mr. Zimmerman of this opinion if this
has not already been done.
Committee discussed' physical report from Dr.. Hagan on Alfred Barnes. Mr. Barnes was
hired 9-26-77 and at that time he was 44 years old., For Borne reason he was not sent
for a physical examination until after his 45th birthday and for this reason, Dr. Hagan
rejected him for employment. Since this was an error on the part of the City, the
City Nurse will contact Dr. Hagan to have this corrected.
Committee inquired as to status of Chief Pitts' request to change his pension. No
answer has been received from the City Attorney.
