10/07/1976 / Proceedings of the Pension Advisory Committee Meeting held October 7, 1976. Present: Betty Ward, Chairman, Advisory Committee Ray' Kaminskas, Member Wesley Brettel, Member Joyce Bayerle, City Nurse Mike Laursen, Personnel Director <,,' Meeting commenced at 9:00 A.M. in the office of the Personnel Director. 1. Minutes of the meeting of September 1, 1976 were approved as written. 2. The Pension Advisory Committee discussed the request of John Stout which requested that hazardous duty designation be applied to his employment with the City. The Committee did not feel the jobs held by Mr. Stout should be deemed ha~ardous. However, they requested that the Personnel Director draft 8'letter for the Pension Advisory Committee Chairman asking the City Attorney to render an opinion on this question. 3. The Pension Advisory Committee reviewed a letter received from Ms. Willie Z. Gooden concerning "policy benefits" of Mr. Willie Rhone. It was verified with the Finance Department that Mr. Rhone listed Ms. Gooden as his beneficiary on the Prudential Group Life Insurance Policy and that processing of payment was being handled by Mr. Weimer. The Committee asked the Personnel Director to forward MS. Gooden's letter to Mr. Weimer as he is handling this matter. 4. After review of information supplied by the City Nurse, the Pension Advisory Committee rejected the application of Mr. Charles Mason into the Pension Plan at this ttme because of his physical problems. 5. The Pension Advisory Committee'reviewed physical examination forms for these employees listed below and recommended their acceptance into the Pension Plan: ~, Georgette L. Members reviewed data from Lucinda Beneket Attorney for Ms. Pasco, which was forwarded from Mr. Bustin. Mr. Bustin x:ecommended the Pension Advisory Committee accept the claim and 'recommend the Trustees'award the pension. Because of the absence of member Ray Kaminskas, action was not formalized. Betty Ward will discuss this with Officer Kaminskas and advise the Personnel Director of appropriate action to be taken. " ':' " , , The Pension Advisory Committee approved the request of Bobby Beck, Mechanic Foreman, for a disability retirement effective upon expiration of his sick leave (6-10-77). Pension Advisory Committee asked the Director to have his staff advise the Committee Chairman of early (advance) retirements. Next'meeting was scheduled for 9:00 A.M. on November 3, 1976. .
