Present: Betty Ward, Chairman, Advisory Committee Ray Kaminskas, Member, Advisory Committee Wesley Brette1, II II II Joyce Bayerle, City Nurse Mike Laursen, Personnel Director Meeting commenced at 9:15 A.M. in the office of the Personnel Director. The Advisory Committee discussed George Green who passed away on De~ember 16, 1975. Mrs. Green applied for pension as his widow on January 22, 1976. The Pension Advisory Committee approved the payment of George Green's pension to his widow. The Committee expressed concern that he had requested to borrow sick leave which was approved and which apparently had not been received by the employee. Director was asked to check into this matter. The Conmittee alao asked that the Director prepare a memo or have an arti~le noted in the City-Gram advising the departments to expeditiously assist employees/ widows in properly applying for pension. '1 Committee discussed the situation concerning employees rejected for pension who subsequently asked to be reconsidered. Two such requests, from Betty Bennett and Alex Battle, were before the Board at this time. The Pension Advisory Committee adopted as a policy the following: ";. The Pension Fund will pay for the original peosion physical administered by the City Physician. Any employee who is rojected from the City Pension Plan as a result of the original exam and wishes to be reconsidered, may do so by providing to the Pension Advisory Board, at his own expense, a report from an appropriate medical specialist. The Pension Advisory Board will review such report and tender its recommendation. The Committee asked that the Director advise MS. Bennett and Mr. Battle of this policy. The P.A.C. reviewed the physical examination forms for those employees listed below in order. to determine their recommendations to the Trustees of the Pension Plan. After., review of the forms, it was their reconnnendation that these employees be accepted into the Pension Plan. Thomas Paige Chris Hardman Charles King Raoda1l Foster, Ronald Nessler Linda Ely Michael Mooney Charles Sizemore The City Nurse once again advised the P.A.C. that John Greiner had not yet submitted a report on his biopsy. The PA.C. asked the Director to send him a memo, advising that no action would be taken regarding his entrance into the Pension Plan until such report was submitted. The P.A.C. asked the City Nurse to return to the City Physician, the physical examination form for James R. McGee as he had omitted his recommendations on pension status. - 2 - Pension Advisory Committee Meeting February 5, 1976 Ray Kaminskas inquired as to the progress of three items as follows: (1) The arrangement for a meeting of the P.A.c. with the City Commission at a work session. (2) The status of the P.A.C.'s request .~o the City to print copies of the Pension Plan for distribution to each employee. (3) The P.A.C.''"s desire to receive copies of the Pension Actuarial Study (or to have a meeting with Mr. Shively of Wyatt Company to review the Actuarial Study). Director was asked to ioquire of Mr. Weimer about the status of these three items.
