Present: Betty Ward, Chairman, Advisory Committee Ray Kaminskas, Member Wesley Brettel, Member Joyce Bayerle, City Nurse Mike Laursen, Personnel Director Meeting commenced at 9:00 A.M. in the Conference Area of the Personnel Department. The Pension Advisory Committee met with Cora Lee Pasco and her Attorney, Lucinda J. Beneke regarding the pension claim of Ms. Yasco. The claim is that Ms. P~sco is the widow of Henry Pasco who retired from the City in 1972 and who passed away January 4, 1973. The Committee reviewed copies of various documents in an effort to obtain pertinent information regarding the claim, including: 1. Marriage Certificate of Henry PascalI and Cora Lee Jackson dated November 13, 1948 in Lowndes County, Georgia. 2. Affidavits of Anna Wee Frost and Robert Frost dated August, 1976, who deposed that they drove Cora Lee Jackson and Henry Pasco to Valdosta, Georgia in November, 1948 and witnessed their marriage. 3. Affidavit of Henry Pasco, dated January 10, 1972 deposed that he was "not married." 4. Certificate of Death of Henry Pasco in which surviving spouse is listed as Cora Shaw (signed by Luis A. Reyes, M.D. and by T. Larkins, Funeral Director). 5.Varioua communications between Mr. Bustin and Mrs. Beneke. After discussing background data with Ms. Pasco and her Attorney, the Committee asked Mrs. Beneke to provide them with a copy of the Birth Certificate of Henry PascalI. Decision will be held pending receipt of that document. There being no further discussion on this matter, Ms. Pasco, Mrs. Beneke and Mr. Bustin were excused. The Committee unanimously approved the request of Edgar M. Orwig, Building Inspector II Building Department for retirement. under ,the Employee ,Pension Plan, Section 5, effective February 7, 1977 at 8:00 A.M. The Committee reviewed the physical examination forms of employees listed below and recommended that they be accepted into the Pension Plan: \1 James E. FOlson, Dist. Serviceman I, Gas Division Terrence Jennings, Civil Engineer I, Engineering James Hanna, Maint. Worker I, Traffic Engineering William Cantlin, Chief Accountant, Finance Mark:Campbell, Sr. Beach Guard, Marine Gail H. Shell, Cust. Sere Rep. I, Utilities Thomas Walbolt, Ree. Supervisor I, Parks & Rec~ The Committee withheld recommendation on Charles Mason after being advised by the
