The Civil Service Board met in session on Tuesday, June 15, 1982 at 7:30 P.M. in the Personnel Department, City Hall, Clearwater. Members Present. Jeanne Wilder, Alex Finch, Tom Chenoweth, Helen Herman, Mary Kane Meeting was called to order. Mr. Chenoweth moved that Mrs. Jeanne Wilder be elected Chairman for the year 1982. Seconded by Mrs. Herman and motion carried. r; ,.. Chairman stated the Board would have to approve the minutes of four meetings held ' during 1981. Mr. Finch moved the minutes of September 28, 1981 be approved as written. Seconded by Mr. Chenoweth and motion carried. Chairman stated that if there were no additions or corrections to the following minutes, they stand approved as written. August 6, 1981 (Hearing Officer's Report on Jaimie Fernandez). May 5 1981 Re: Danny Fivecoat . January 28, 1981 (Re:Cleven Wyatt, Sanitation Driver disciDlinarv Drocess). Chairman Wilder advised Board that she had spoken with the Personnel Director about having a meeting with Board Members before summer vacations started. Mr. Laursen suggested his staff members attend this meeting and give brief resumes of the work they are doing and propose to do. Mrs. Wilder then turned the meeting over to Jeff Harper, Assistant Personnel Director who introduced staff members to the Board. Pam Skyrme - Personnel Analyst Pam stated that her major responsibility is to design new tests for all classifications and to do assessment center type examinations on executive level positions. The ,•. :..,.•'.. assessment center, involves using all staff personnel. Mark Soike -- Records & Recruitment Officer Mark stated that his major responsibility is supervising employees in recruiting and testing. He also has continuous contact with other departments and divisions concerning eligibility lists, vacations, retirements, and sick leave. Tel - Bob Brumback -- Job Analyst Bob stated that his job is to go out to the departments and divisions and look at the °.•job in terms of tasks. This analysis is user3 in testing, training, classification, and in organization review. Bob Murray -• Training Officer Bob stated that he does all testing of drivers who use equipment and heavy equipment, 0' • He is also teaching a course in the techniques of supervision and expects to hold . a seminar on stress management. Helen Herman asked about consortiums that are being held in conjunction woth other ! cities. 1 "'All'Board Members agreed they had enjoyed meeting the staff and felt they had a better . inaight''into what was being accomplished by, the Personnel Department. ?',.Mr. Chenoweth moved the meeting be adjourned: Seconded by Helen Herman.
