06/22/1978 Proceedings of the Civil Service Board meeting held June 22, 1978. •-E ` The Clearwater Civil Service Board met in regular session on Thursday evening, June 22, 1978 at 7:30 P.M. in the Personnel Department Training/Examination Room at City Hall. Members present: Tom Chenoweth, Helen Herman, A. D. Finch, John Turnbull, Jeanne Wilder Visitors: None Representing City Attorney: Richard Griesinger, Assistant City Attorney ` Representing City Manager: None The meeting was opened by the Interim Personnel Director who indicated the first need to be addressed concerned the selection of a Chairman. Mr. Turnbull moved that Mrs. Wilder be elected temporary Chairman. Seconded by Mr. Chenoweth and motion carried unanimously. Mr.-Chenoweth moved that Jeanne Wilder be elected Chairman for the calendar year 1978. s Seconded by Mr. Finch. There being no further nominations, motion carried unanimously. Mr. Chenoweth moved the approval of the Minutes of June 13, 1977 and July 21, 1977 meetings. Seconded by Mr. Turnbull and motion carried unanimously. Mr. Chenoweth moved that Mrs. Jeanne Wilder be selected as the fifth Board Member for a three year term. Seconded by Mr. Turnbull and motion carried unanimously. Mr. Turnbull inquired as to an interpretation of Ordinance 1643 with respect to the duties and obligations of the Hearing Officer and the Board, specifically whether the Hearing.Officer should recommend penalties. Mr. Griesinger advised the Board .that'he would review the matter and submit an opinion to the Board.
