Members present: Armand J. Falzone, William A. Ramsey, Cal Blackstone, Cliff Stephens and Arlie Schardt. . ~ . Visitors: Gerald Weimer, Asst. City Manager Mr. Blackstone moved the minutes of the meeting of June 12, 1972 meeting be approved. Seconded by Mr. Stephens and motion carried. Asst. to Director reported on certifications and appointments. Asst. to Director reported on assembled examinations conducted. Asst. to Director reported on lay-offs, suspensions and dismissals. Mr., Schardt moved that the Board ratify the Director.s action in approving an additional position of Electrician-Lineman I, Range 37, Salary $200 bi-weekly in the Traffic Engineering Department. Seconded by Mr. Ramsey and motion carried. 2. Mr. Ramsey moved that the Board ratify the Director's action in approving an additional position of Dock Attendant, Range 37, Salary $200 bi-weekly in the Marine Division, Parks & Recreation Department. Seconded by Mr. Stephens and motion carried. 3. Mr. ,Schardt moved that the Board approve request for extension of Emergency ,Appointment of Norma J. Mr. Schardt moved the Board adopt a new residency requirement as outlined in the Director's memo to the Board dated July 5, 1972 as follows: , "Expansion of the existing residency requirement from the bl,undaries of Pinellas County to include Pasco County from its Northern boundary, east to U.S. Highway 41 and down Highway 41 to the Southern boundary of Hillsborough County." Mr. Blackstone seconded the motion for the purpose of discussion. diocussion, the motion was defeated. After 5~' Asst. to Director told Board members that Mr. Blackstone had been re-appointed to the Board by the City Commission for another three year term. 6. Asst. to Director advised Board members that the meritorious increase for Mrs. Sydnor, Secretary IV, had been approved by the City Manager retroactive to February 1, 1972 in accordance with the Boardls request. 7. , Mr. Stephens moved the Board approve extension Doris Schofield, Clerk II, Finance Department, Seconded.by Mr. Ramsey. Motion carried. of Emergency Appointment of for an additional sixty days. 8. Mr. Ramsey moved that Lt. Paul Young who has been transferred to Fire Prevention Inspector be placed in Step 7 of Range 54 ($395) to prevent a loss of salary to him~ Seconded by Mr. Stephens. Motion carried. . ,Asst. Director passed out a memo on Wage & Salary Controls under the Economic Stabilization Program. Mr. Stephens moved the meeting be adjourned.
