The Clearwater Civil Service Board met in regular session Monday evening,
April 10, 1972 in the Civil Service office at City Hall.
Members present: William A. Ramsey, Cal Blackstone, Cliff Stephens and Arlie Schardt.
Chairman Falzone was unable to attend the meeting and William Ramsey acted as
Chairman.
Mr. Schardt moved the minutes be approved. Seconded by Mr. Stephens and motion
carried.
Director reported on certifications and appointments.
Director reported on assembled examinations conducted.
Director reported on, lay-offs, suspensions and dismissals. No Board action necessary.

1. Mr. Schardt moved that the Board ratify the Director's action in approving the
establishment of one Clerk-Typist I position, Range 29, Salary $164 bi-weekly
in the Customer Accounts Section, Utilities Department. Seconded by Mr. Stephens
and motion carried.
2. Mr. Stephens moved that the Board ratify the Director's action in approving the
establishment of one additional position of Key Punch-Verifier operator , Range 32,

Salary $177 bi-weekly in the Data Processing Division, Finance Department.
Seconded by Mr. Schardt and motion carried.
3. Mr. Stephens moved that the Board ratify the Director's action in approving
the establishment of one additional position of Account Clerk 11, Range 39,
Salary $210 bi-weekly in the Finance Department and the abolishment of one
position of Clerk-Typist 11, Range 34, Salary $186 bi-weekly. Seconded by
Mr. Blackstone and motion carried.
4. Mr. Schardt moved that the Board approve City Manager's request to establish
one additional position of Electrical Inspector, Range 51, Salary $281 bi-
weekly in the Building Department. Seconded by Mr. Stephens. Motion carried.
5. Mr. Stephens moved that the Board approve City Manager's request to establish
a new classification of Auditor, Range 58, Salary $333 bi-weekly in the Finance
Department with an initial complement of one position therein. Seconded by
Mr. Blackstone. Motion carried.
6. Mr. Stephens moved that the Board approve request from Laura Fischer, Clerk-
Typist 11, Finance Department for Maternity Leave of Absence beginning
May 1, 1972 and returning tentatively on July 31, 1972. Seconded by
.Mr. Blackstone. Motion carried.
7. Mr.•Schardt moved that the Board ratify the Director's action in approving
extension-of Emergency Appointments of George Owen, Electrical Inspector,
Building Department, Noah Suggs, Janitor, Police Department and William
Foubister, Computer Programmer, Finance Department. Seconded by Mr.Stephens.
Motion carried.
Director passed out revisions of job descriptions to be put in Pay and Classification
Manuals.
Mr. Stephens moved the meeting be adjourned. Seconded by Mr. Schardt. Motion
carried.
