The Clearwater Civil Service Board met in regular session Monday evening June 8, 1970 in the Civil Service office at City Hall. Members present: Armand J. Falzone, Cal Blackstone, A. Clifton Stephens, Donald 0. McFarland and William A. Ramsey. Guests: Mr. Arlie A. Schardt, Secretary, Carlouel Garden Association. Chairman Falzone called meeting to order. Mr. Stephens moved the minutes of the meeting of May 11, 1970 be approved. Seconded by Mx. Ramsey and motion carried. Director reported on certifications and appointments. Director reported on assembled examinations conducted. Director reported on lay-offs, suspensions and dismissals. No Board action necessary. Mr. McFarland moved that the resignations of David L. Tinsley, Firefighter, Fire Depaxtment, Allen G. Schultz, Henry W. Bivins, Arthur L. Wilkerson and Henry J. Broxton, Laborers, Parks & Recreation Department, Frank S. Nelson, Groundskeeper, Parks & Recreation Department, Barbara J. Fairley, Recreation Supervisor II, Parks & Recreation Department, Willie McBride and Edward A. Brown, III, Recreation Leaders, Parks & Recreation Department, William C. Coon, Bldg. Maintenance Supt., Bldg. Maintenance Division, Public Works Department, Russell J. Baker, Taborer, .P6li.c Service Department, John R. Borsch, Equipment Operator, Public Service Department, Ronnie Hunter, Janitor, Central Services Department, Fred C. Mr. Ramsey moved that the Board approve request from David L. Binnion, Meter Reader I, Utilities Department for Military Leave of Absence, effective May 28, 1970. Seconded by Mr. Stephens. Motion carried. 2. -Mr. Ramsey moved that the Board ratify the Director's action in revising the Assistant City Engineer job description and in adjusting the salary from Range 70, $422 bi-weekly to Range 72, $444 bi-weekly. Seconded by Mr. Blackstone. Motion carried. , Y 71` 3. Mx. McFarland moved that the Board approve City Manager's reques t to 4.1. establish a new classific ation of Civil Engineer, Range 61, $338 bi-weekly ,.=. .• in the Engineering Department with an initial complement of one (1) position ,J therein. Seconded b Mr. Stephens and motion carried. 4. After lengthy discussion regarding a proposed classification of Traffic Enforcement.Officer Mr. Ramsey moved that the matter be tabled for the next ieetinS. Seconded by Mr. McFarland. Motion carried.
