Proceedings of the Civil Service Board meeting held October 9, 1967.

The Clearwater Civil Service Board met in regular session Monday evening,
October 9, 1967 at 7:30 P.M. in the Civil Service Office at City Hall.
Members present: George H. Dalby, Chairman; Armand J. Falzone, John Starr,
R. M. Thompson, Sr. and Donald o. McFarland
Observers: Mrs. E. C. Marquardt and Mrs. RUBsell C. Hart, League of Women
Voters.
Chairman called the meeting to order.
Mr. Starr moved that the minutes of the meeting of September 11, 1967 be
accepted. Seconded by Hr. McFarland and motion carried.
Mr. Falzone moved that the minutes of the special meeting of October 2, 1967
be accepted. Seconded by Mr. McFarland and motion carried.
Director reported on assembled examinations conducted.
Director reported on certifications and appointments.
Director reported on lay-offs and dismissals. No Board action necessary.

extension of the emergency appointments of Robert Frederic\~sen,
and Wade Clark, Police Patrolmen, for an additional sixty days.

extension of emergency appointments of Andrew Suder, Toll Attendant and Clara
Hester, Recreation Supervisor II for an additional 60 days. Seconded by
Mr. McFarland and motion carried.

the starting of Rodney Winter. Buyer II. at Step 2 in hio classification.
Seconded by Mr. Falzone. Motion carried.
Mr. Fal~one moved that the Boaru ratify the D!rectorts action in approving
waiver of six months time limit for temporary part-time Janitors for the
lolarlna. This will be casual labor on an lion-call" basis. Seconded by

Director read a letter from Mr. Stewart confirming the appointment of
Edward Fulmer as Administrative Assistant to the City Manager for Civil
Defense.
Mr... Thompson moved that effective October 1, 1967 Mike Laursen, Assistant to
Personnel Director be given a salary increase of $20.00 per pay period ($10.00
..i per week) . Seconded by Mr. Falzone and motion carried.
