The Clearwater Civil Service Board met in regular sC8sion Monday evening, February 13, 1967 at 7:30 P.M. in the Civil Service Office at City Hall. Members present: George H. Dalby~ Chairman. R. M. Thomp80n~ Sr., John Starr and Harold Wallacc. Observers: Mrs. Mary Ann Lirot, League of Women Voters. Mr. Starr moved that the minutes of the meeting of January 9, 1967 be approved as written. Seconded by Mr. Thompson and motion carried. Director reported on assembled examinations conducted. Director reported on certifications and appointments. Director reported on lay-offs and dismissals. No Board action necessary. Mr. Thompson moved that the resignations of Brenda Cobb, Secretary I, City Manager's Department, Frederick Akers, Account Clerk I, Marine Department, Robert L. Whiting, John T. Tumpkins, and Jimmie Scott, Refuse Collectors, Refuse Division, Utilities Department, C. Fred Buck, Community Center Supervisor, Parks & Recreation Department, F. E.Byrd, Jr., Vernon V. Keiser, and Leroy Scott, Laborers, Parks & Recreation Department, Arnold Kuypers, Recreation Assistant, Parks & Recreation Department, Crezel Washington, Maid, Parks and Recreation Department, Richard T. Banks and Larry Taubert~ Rodmen. Engineering Department, Robert Lehart, Instrument Man, Engineering Department. Arthur Lyons~ Laborer, Water Division, Utilities Department, Gerald H. McGuire, Fire- 'fighter. Fire Department, David J. Farnsworth, Police Patrolman, Police Department and James Todd. Laborer, Parks & Recreation Department be accepted. Seconded by Mr. \~al1ace. Motion carried. Mr. Wallace moved that the Board grant the request of the City Manager to discontinue the Marine Department as a department and re-e~tablish it as the Marine Division of the Finance Department. This would include the transfer of the Harbormaster position as well as all of the other personnel previously included in the Marine Department. Seconded by Mr. Starr and motion carried. Mr. Thompson moved that the request from the City Manager that the amended , position description for the new Harbormaster be approved and assigned to Range 43 of our current Pay Plan be included in the previous motion. Seconded by Mr. Starr and motion carried. Mr. Thompson moved that the Board ratify the action of the Director in approving the establishment of one additional position of Groundskeeper, Range 23, two additional positions of Laborer, Range 18, and one additional position of Janitor, Range 15 in the Parks & Recreation Department for the new Phillies Complex now nearing completion. Range 31, in the Legal Department .and ratify the action of the Director in approving the transfer of 'Mr8~ Mildred Corzetto of the Legal Department to the position of Secretary I in the City Manager's Department. Seconded by Mr. Starr and motion carried. Mrs, Lirot from the League of Women Voters said that it was a pleasure to attend the. meeting and that she had enjoyed it very much. Mr. Wallace moveH that the Director write a letter to Mrs. E. c. Marquardt, League. of Women Voters, expressing the Board members' sincere regret at the passing of Mrs. Raphael Van Tasse11, who was such a faithful representative of the League of Women Voters at the Civil Service Board meetings.
