The Clearwater Civil Service Board met in regular sesaion Monday evening,
March 14, 1966 at 7: 30 P.M. in the Civil Service Office nt New City llall.
Members present: George U. Dalby, Chairman, Harold \<lo.llace, It. H. Thompson, Sr.
and Donald McFarland.
Observers: Mr. James R. Stewart, City Manager
Meeting called to order by Chairman Dalby.
Mr. Thompson moved that the minutes of February 14, 1966 be adopted 8S printed.
Seconded by Mr. Wallace and motion carried.
Director reported on assembled exsu\inations held.

Director reported on certifications and appointments.
Director reported on lay-offs, suspensions and dismissals. No Board action
indicated.
Mr. McFarland moved that the resignations of Mary Andrus, Clerk I, civil Service
Department, Uelen Peters, Account Clerk II, Finance Department, Ann Geiselman,
Clerk I, Water Division, Utilities Department, Keith McEnany, Rodman. Engineering
Department, Lawrence ~mckert, Rodman, Engineering Departmentt Edwin Benton,
Instrument Man, Engineering Department. Jerry Page, Clyde Kraus, Herman Gi~dner,
Sewage Plant Attendante, Sewage Treatment Plants, Utilities Department, George
Walton, Clerk lIt Incinerator Division, Utilities Department and Robert L.
Johnson, Laborer, Parks and Recreation Department be accepted. Motion seconded
by Mr. Wallace and carried.

Director told Board members that L~~rence Mackert and Keith McEnany, Rodmen in
the Engineering Department had been asked to resign and a letter to that effect
would be put in their jackets.,
Mr. Thompson moved that the request for military leave of absence for Gregory
Martin, Sewage ,Plant Attendant be granted. Seconded by Mr. McFarland. Motion
carried.
Director read memo from Herbert Brown, City Attorney, stating that in his opinion
the Home Economist to be hired in the Utilities Department would not come under
Civil Service. City ~funager stated that she had been hired and outlined to the
Board members the duties of her position.
Director told Board that a copy of the Civil Service Rules had been placed in
the Law Library in the Pinellas County Court House. .this makes the Rules

available to any lawyer who might be interested. and the one copy can be kept
~p to date on any changes.
Director,told the Board members about the plan for hiring a doctor to
pre-employment and periodic physical examinations for City employees.
discussion, the Board members agreed that the Director and Mr. Weimer
should choose one doctor and an alternate and ask for ratification by
Board.
