S." r The Clearwater Civil Service Board met in regular session Monday evening, May 10, 1965 at 7:30 P.M. in the Civil Service Office. Members present: George It. Dalby, Chairman, John Starr, Harold Wallace and i?•'. Donald McFarland, Observers: Mr. James R. Stewart, City Manager and Mrs. Celie 0. Weart, League of Women Voters. Meeting called to order by.Chairman Dalby. Mr. Starr moved that the minutes of the meeting of April 12, 1965 be approved. Seconded by Mr. Wallace and motion carried. Director reported on assembled examinations conducted. :.: Director reported on certifications and appointments. Director reported on lay-offs, suspensions and dismissals. No Board action indicated. Mr. McFarland moved that the resignations of D. A. Williamson Recreation Leader, ?v..'., Dennis M. Kelley, Laborer, Parks & Recreation Department, Abraham McCrea, Refuse 'Collector, Clenton C. Jenkins, Refuse Collector, Donald E. Newman, Refuse Driver, r1t'.° =' ' A. G:. Green, Refuse Driver, Donald 11abrial, Firefighter, George A. Gray, Mechanic 7, Paul Boudreau, Laborer, Public Works Department and Edward Jackson, Laborer, Parrs & Recreation Department, be accepted. Seconded by Mr. Starr. Motion carried. Director read letter from City Manager requesting that new positions of paint & Body Mechanic, Range 17 and Paint & Body Helper, Range 10, be established within the Garage Division of the Public Works Department. Mrs. Wallace moved that the new positions of Paint & Body Mechanic and Paint & Body Helper be approved. Seconded by Mr. Starr. Motion carried. Mr: Starr moved that the Director's action in approving extension of emergency Y.t'.,.?. appointment of Aubrey H. Houston, Electrician Lineman 11 for an additional 30 days be ratified. Seconded by Mr. Wallace and motion carried. Director went over changes in the new Rules with Board Members. Director read Resolution approving and adopting the new Civil Service Board Rules ???..'. ?;r.';:.., , .,, , • and Regulations and ,recommending them for approval by the City Commission oft the , City of Clearwater. This resolution also recommended that the current Civil Service Board Rules and Regulations be repealed by the Appointing Authorities. Mr: McFarland `?`'`'? :. ` moved the adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Wallace seconded the motion and motion •: carried. Chairman announced that meeting would go into executive session and would be closed to outsiders ? U: 'tip `zl H ?F ?ill' 14 4 •` 'J i Yh9 After discussion 'Mr. McFarland moved that the Board adopt the Pa Plan of the City of Clearwater, effective April, 1, 1965, the Pay Plan which has been proposed to .you tonight and calked - the' Pay Plan of the City of Clearwater of ril '1 tl,,,,,.,,,• ,. ' Ap, , , 965, and that an appropriate Resolution be 'drawn reflecting this action by the Board and the signatures of each member of the Board affixed.to it: if he approves. Seconded-by Mr. Starr and motion carried. Director read Resolution approviug the new Pay Plan.
