Bethel No comments. ~:. t, I I Keith Crawford - stated that under the latest Ordi~ance a remodeled park- ing lot has to be brought up to current code and he has many problems with this project. Driveways as they appear on the plan - some existing and some. new - appear to be right up against property lines; driveways as they intersect Highland Avenue do not have the required five foot separation. The same condition exists on Greenlea and at rear of shopping center - there is no separation shown between the driveway and homes. . ,I ~ \ ,'. . 1,(\ Keith Crawford also objected to the fact that there is no connection be- tween this shopping center and the neighboring center and stated it would be to mutual advantage of both centers to have such a connection. ,Further the layout of aisles as shown on the plan do not ~llow for proper . ,circulation of traffic. In one case, traffic leaving one aisle runs head- ::>.':..9.on. into cincoming traffic. ';, Only:.three handicapped parking spaces are indicated on the plan. ", !~ Cecil Itondorson - roferred to storm drainage at thib project and advised that at the time tho shopping center was built, the City did not roquire off-sito drainage. Vears later Cecil designed a storm sewer system that ~ como up Uighland, acrosa Groenlen and Was large enough to accept Water r,.,~ from thifi.l center. That design was subsequently changed and now water loavos tho conter, gOeS directly to Highland and forms a little river as it flown down the street creating a dange~ous condition. Cecil suggested to John Rooks that the current remodeling of this shopping center would bo an ideal time to add some storm drainage that would go into the inlet along the north side of Greenlea, thus greatly improving the traffic safety on Highland Avenue. John Rooks agreed but was not sure how accept- able this would be to'developer. Water retention/detention is still being roviewed in the Engineering Department and Cecil's suggestion will be passed on to the drainage engineer handling the project.
