Public hearing was held at 1:30 PM prior to the regular meeting re application for annexation
and zoning for the following:
1. N 140 ft. of S 47.0 ft. of E 150 ft. of W 980 ft. of SW 1/4 of NE 1/4,
Section 17-29-16, together with any abutting streets, (Stone)
Request: R-2, Duplex
2. (A) SW 1/4 of SW l/4 of SE 1/4, iess Bayshore Blvd., Section 9-29-16,
together with abut'J:ing streets (Mebrell)
Request: PUD-R, Planned Unit Development - Residential
(B) N 1/2 o'f SW 1/4 of SE 1/4, less Bayshore Blvd., Section 8-29-16 (Mebrell)
Request: PUD-R, Planned Unit Development - Residential

'Minutes of December 8, 1970 were approved as wri~ten on motion by Mr. Galloway, seconded
by Mr. Mylander.
~~ ,::=Jtion was made by Mr. Butler, seconded by Mr. Reade, to recommend approval 'of (1) above.
, Motion carried unanimously. Zoning requested is in accordance with lot and building usage
~~:"within the area. Applicant agreed to dedicating 30 ft. 1/2 right of way for Elizabeth Ave.
';',' ~Motion was made by Mr. Reade, seconded by Mr. Butler, to reconunend a.pproval of (2) (A) and
:~':: (B) above based upon plan elements required for zoning classification. (Amended plan
',;>:elements are agreed to by applicant.) Motion carried unanimously. Surrounding area is
:;,-,:. : low density residential; PUD-R recognizes review of plan for height, density and other re-
;':'.' quirements. Buffer area .of park to the north (to be dedicated) is provided in plan. Re-
o vised access and parking arrangements have Traffic Engineer's approval. Bayshore is to be
100 ft. R/W - full R/W dedication. Dedication is agreed to for 40 ft. 1/2 R/w for Rontercy
and 50 ft. 1/2 R/w for Drew. '

"" 'Following considerable discussion re plat, motion was made by Mr. Galloway, seconded by
, Mr. Reade, to recommend approval of Mebre11 plat based on site plan dated September 1, 1970,
prepared by Robert'L. Grundman, architect, with last revision December 17, 1970, per site
survey, with height limitation of two (2) stories on all buildings as well as the com-
munity building and that the density not exceed 9.9 units per acre including the lands to
be deeded to the City and zoned Public. It is further recommended that the deeded property
be immediately zoned Public as soon as acquired by the 'City. Motion carried 'unanimously.,

It.was announced that the new principal planner of Barr, Dunlop & Associates, Inc.J Nonnan
Ross, wil1'be in Clearwater on either January 6, 7 or 8 for a work session with the staff.
Mr. Ross replaces Frank W. Brutt.

. , FPZA election results are: President - Paul A. Bergmann; Vice President - Hessrs. Albrecht
and West; 'Secretary-Treasurer - Phil McGuire. The Board congratulated Mr. Bergmann on his
.:.; . being e1ectedPresident.of the Chapter and also Vice Chairman Mylander who will serve on
. the Board of Directors.
