Chairman Kruse further reported on petition presented by interested
citizens re report, Second Causeway between Acacia 6 Bay Esplanade,
Sunset Pt. Rd. (Clearwater Bridr,e, Inc.)
Mr. Reade questioned the length of time required for processinr, an
ann~xation application. Mr. Bergmann and Mr. Rettie explained that
it takes approximately three months from date of receipt through
Engi.neering, posting, Board and Commission Puhlic Hearing.
Mr. Gricius presented problems on the present houslnr, situation in
Clearwater. Mr. Bergmann 5u8Bcsted that the PlanninB and ZoninB
Board and Planning Staff, at the direction of the City Commission
and City Hanager and in a joint effort \-lith ClearHater Housing
Authority, could work toward finding ,sites for public housing. The
Board concurred.
Mr. Bergmann reported that Mrs. David will return Hay 25 on a part-
time basis and that HI's. t-!ary Gough Has appointed Clerk-Typist I
(emergency) in the Planning Department.
Planning Director read a letter dated May 13, 1970 from J. R. Dembeck
of USS Realty Development to the Board concerning rezoning of proper-
.ty on Sand Key. Mr. Dembeck requested City to defer action on rezoning
of Sand Key indefinitely. r,eneral discussion followed.
Mr.. Bergmann announced that a final wor~ session,\>1ith the City
commission and the Planning and Zoning Board on the Comprehensive
Plan may be scheduled soon. He also noted that there Hould be a
special meeting May 27 on the Capital Improvement Program.
M~. Morris excused himself while the Board reviewed the Planned Unit
Development proposal (along Bayshore Boulevard) from his office. No
action taken at this time.
