Motion was made by Mr. Schutzendorf, seconded by Mr. Reade, to recommend approval of
item 3 !1bove. Motion carried unanimously, Zoning request conforms to land use.
Motion was made by Mr. Reade, seconded by Hr. Horries, to recommend approval of item
4 above. Motion carried unanimously. Zoning request is in accordance to County
Single Family zone presently on property.
Motion was made by Mr. Schutzendorf, seconded by Mr. Reade, to recommend approval of'

Motion was made by Mr. Reade, seconded by Mr, Spier, to recommend denial of annexation
and zoning request item 7 above and that the Board recommend that the property be
annexed and zoned R-1A Single Farni 1y (Rural Estate) wi th the businesE.: already located
.there listed as a legal nonconformity. Engineering representative suggested that the
right-of-way on Keene Road have an additional 20 feet dedicated to tnake a total of
100 feet right-of-way.

Mr. Kruse nnnounced that Hrs. Boynton nutler was in Room 105D, Ml!ase. Hospital. The
Board contributed money to Bend flowcrs.
Mr. Kruse read two letters, one from Mr. Mylander and one from Mrs. David, exprcssing
appreciation for the plants received from the Board.
Drawings were distributed for two rezoning requests which will be,items for the
April 14, 1970, public hearing: (1) Northen\ portion~ Airpark; (2) Southern portion
of Airpark; and (3) property located East of Bayshore ~lvd. and North of State Road 60.
Mr. Kruse announced that a portion of Edgewater Drive frontage has been deeded to
the City so that the City will have control of the Beautification.
Final approvn1 has been givcn by the U. S, Department of Housing and Urban Develop.
ment (HUD) of 75 additional housing units for Clearwater,
Reappointments of Messrs. Kruse, Galloway, and Spier to the Planning and Zoning
Board wore Bnnounced to the Board. Other planners related appointments were noted,
Mr, Bergmann passed out cigars as he announced the birth of his son, Norbert Peter
Bergmann III, on Easter morning.
. Mr, Bergmann statea that the study on parking lot landscaping would be continued in
',':: order to clarify items related to used and nelol car lots and conunercial parking lots,
,...:/ to revise the review procedure and criteria to simplify the p'roccdure for obtaining
!.'. a building permit (i.e., to eliminate review by the Parks Department),

Mr. Bergmann reported that the City Commission has expressed a concern over parking
in unpaved vacant lots althougl\ they are properly zoncd; thc Commission also requested
that the Board examine all property zoned M Manufacturing and determine possible re-
zoning to B Business or flU Heavy Business.

RE "70l,tI Mr, Bergmann told the Board that the several Comprehensive Plun elements
are due in final by April 15, 1970, and they they will be packaged and sent out by
the consulting firm; at a later date, a summary report will be sent.
There was general discussion concerning the zoning ordinance amendment proposals which
will ,be on the agenda for the April 14, 1970 Public Hearing on Rezoning,
It was also noted that the PinelIns County Board of Commissioners will hold a public
hearing April 14; 1970, at: 9:00 AM re revision of the City of Clearwater Bulkhead Line.
,Literature was distributed, specifically ASPO Newsletter, February-March 1970, ASPO
Newsletter, April 1970, and Florida Planning and Development, February 1970.
