, Inter-office memorandum dated February 2, 1970 has been, received from Bud Parmer re (12)
above. 'Memo requests that staff and the Planning & Zoning Board give special consideration
to certain features; i. e., width of the streets in the area, right of way, paving and cost
of sewers. Th~se items should be evaluated to make sure that property owners requesting th~
annexation understand the need for additional right of way and the cost of improvements in
. the area.
Statement was made by the Planning Director that the new schedule allows 10 days advertise-
ment regarding public hearings prior to the Planning & Zoning Board meetings, as well as
the Planning &.Zoning Board having 13 days prior to the City Commission meetings.

Discussion was held re recommendations for business setback and multi-family requirements
1n a business zone. Board deferred nction in order to have more time to study them relaw
ti~e to desir~d and workable ends. Staff has been requested to give direction.
Planning Director reported on his trip to Tallahassee, January 22 '- 23, and the work session-
with the consultan~ there. (Frank W. Brutt of Barr, Dunlop & Associates, Inc.) He also
reported that Eliot Miller, who is working with the consulting firm, was in ClearwatertP-
day snp the "70111 plan was reviewed.
The consultant, Frank W. Brutt, will meet with the Planning & Zoning Board on February 5
at 1:30 PM to review the status of the 11701" program. Mr. Dunlop will also be present.
The consultants will then meet wi~h the City Commission.
Mr. Bergmann stated that several Sign Committee meetings have been held. Parking lot
beautification requirements have been reviewed and the Committee is continuing review of
Iton premise" signs.
.' . Students chosen for the Student Involvement Program will meet with members of the respective
::-:..~oards in the Commission Room at 3 PM, February 4. Students will be non-voting members of
.,'., \~he boards. The Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Board will attend.

, ,Planning Department has been requested to draft a Shade Tree Ordinance.

Request has been received for the Planning & Zoning Board to check out the reliability of
any developer -- obtain references,. background, experience, etc. Some concern has been
expressed regarding the rash of new developers coming into Clearwater.
