The Chairwan made preliminary comment of opinion expressed to
him by the City Manaeerthat all applications involv~nB propeT'ties
along Osceola Ave. on the acenda of the last Zoning Public Hearinp, are
considered as having becn resubmitted. Mr. Kruse further advised that
he was a member of the Housing Committee of the Senior Citizens Ser-
yices organization and that at their last. committee meeting a 8r~up had
met with them in the interest of a tentative proposal for a medium cost

housing project for senior citizens. He said that in this discussion
it was stated that a site on Osceola (not identified) was being con-

sidered. He reported that he had informed the City Manager of the
Board's actions taken in regard to the Davis and Waddell resubmittals.
At this time, Hr. Wolle pointed out that, according to copy sent
. him of a' memo from the City Clerk to the City t1anap,er, the anti ci pa ted
~ate of the next Zoning Hearing was August 14, with July 21 to be the
deadline for receipt of applications. Mr. \o1011e also reported on his
consultation with the City AttoT'ney concerning 'the requirement for recom-
mendation from!the Plan~ing and Zoning Board withih 60 days of filing
date of an application. The interpretation given him Has that a re-
quest for an extension of this time limitation because of further time

Copies were distributed of a proposal for an AG (Agriculture)
District (prepared in co~sultation with Mr. Nylander), patterned as to
form and content after the County's A-I, Agricultural, District.

Copies of excerpt from the County zoning ordinance detailing such dis-

trict had been previously furnished to members for study.
The Planner presented the AG District proposal with explanation of
changes that had been made from the text of the model, includinr. the
deletion of some inapplicable provisions. The Board reviewed and dis-
6ussed the con~cnt in detail. Motion made by M~. Butler, as amend~d,
was to recommend the adoution of the AG (Apriculture) District t)ro-
pasal as recommended by the Planner and the Lepal Counsel with the ex-
c~ption.that Item #9 under Permitted Uses be deleted from the oermitted
uses and added to Special Exceptions list as It~m #17, with suoolemental

DOHNTOHN ASSOCIATION - VISIT '1'0 ORLANDO - Hr. Kruse and HI': ~'lo11c
reported on their recent trip to Orlando, Fla., made in company with
city and civic officials, to p.ltin first-hand expel'~ience in reGard to
that .city's downtown and housinp, improvement prop,raTl'. resulting from a
survey conducted by the Build America BettEn'" Committee of the National
Associati6n of Real Estate Boards. Mr. Kruse reported that, following
this trip, plans had been announced by Mayor Hougen to bring a BAD Com-
mittee survey team to Clearwater at an estimat~d cost of $3,000,8 por-
tion of the total cost expected to be borne by the Downtmm Association
and the-local Board of Realtors. It was learned that the i~plementation
of the survey team's recommendations would be the responsibility of the
Rity, Dowritown IAssociat~on, and qualified consulta~ts.
SUMMER VACATION SCHEDULES - rlote was made of anticipated vaca-
tion dates of members.
