Members reviewed, in sum~ary, Items #1 through NIl of the Notice
of April 24, 1967, Zoning Public Hearing, with raference' being made to

In regard to listed Items "9 and #11 (Planning Doard ~pplications -
properties along U. Osceola Ave. in the Vicinity of Palm Bluff and
Cedar Streets) the Chairman reported that infopmation had come to his
attention since the Board t s April II meeting concerning a proposal to
construct in that area a 90% Government subsidized housing development
(reportedly 200 low-rental housing units). In view of the fact that
a c;~nge to R-4 zoning would provide for such a high density use, re~
, consideration was given to the Osceola area as one encompassing large
choice waterfront pt"'operties \'1hich the Board had recoe,nized as offer-
ing the potential for a desirable PUP development compntib1e Hith the
fine single family homes located in this rcl,ltively loV! densi ty mul ti-

family use area. It was felt that m~stcr plnnning for the large area

involved (as descl'.ibcd in Public: IlCill-.ine It:cP.1s 9 and 11) should receive
more detailed Board study.

The background of the r.equest under' Item 113 (SallIs property) \o,as
discu~s~d. It was reported that the attorney for the applicant would
probably make. a strong appeal in this case and that a number of calls
from obje,ctol"S had been rccci veti by the Chairman,
Thel"e Has some discussion of 'dhether applicants for rGzoning should
be informed of Planning Board recommendations prior to a scheduled
zoning hearing. It was decided that an opinion from the Ciiy Attorney
