08/09/1966 r\ THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD .,../ V Minutes of the Meeting, Tuesday, August 9, 1966. The mee.ting was called to order at 4:00 P. M. by the Vice-Chair- man, Mr. Reade, who presided in the absence of Chairman ~ruse on a European vacation tour. Present were Members Iley, Butler and Mylander, Mr. Rettig of the Engineering Department, and Mr. Wolle. ,The minutes of the meeting of July 19, 1966, were approved as sub- mitted in written summation to each member. SERVICE STATION - SITE PLAN APPROVAL (SHELL OIL CO.) - Location ~ ......b... II l...l ILl was described as the southwest corner of Junction US Hwy 19 and pro- posed Harn Boulevard. The Board reviewed site plan for this service station. The Planner presented the plan with information that the As- sistant'City Engineer had previously made notes on the plan of Engi- neeringrequirement to conform to ordinance regulation of 40 ft. drive-' way width at the curb and 30t w~dth at the proPerty line. Mr. Wolle further reporte,d on location of pump islands and building in relation to the rights-of-way and stated he had no objections to the proposed site plan. Vice Chairman Reade questioned the adequacy of distance from the intersection shown for-those driveways located 'nearest to the corner. After some discussion, therfollowing ~otion was passed. "to recommend approval of the site for the above Shell Oil station to be located on the west side of US 19 and south of proposed Harn 'Boulevard subject to the reduction of driveway approach required by the Engineering Department to be taken from the north side of the most northerly drive on US 19 and such reduction be taken from the east side of the most easter- 1y drive on proposed Harn Blvd., thus locating these drives further from the proposed intersection." Reference was made to copies of the existing Zoning Ordi- nance and explanation made by Mr. Wolle as to where these proposed amendments were to be incorporated in the ordinance context. It was further explained that these two proposed amendments (per copies distributed at this meeting of agenda record) had been given prior study by the Zoning Committee. T L ~.. . ~"'\ meetings and activities of Census Tract Subcommittee No. 2 for which he is serving as Chairman. Mission'of such subcommittee is to review the 1960 Census Tract boundaries as to'meaningful use for the 1970 census with focus on land use homogeneity, service areas,of municipalities, as'well as the existing and potential housing densities.
