Minutes of the Heating, TuesdaYt Barch 29, 19G6.
The meeting \olas called to order c1t 3: 30 P. }-L by the Chait'man,
Mro Kruse~ Present were Members Harries, Butler, Mylandcr, Iley,
Williams, Reade and Galloway, Mr. Rettie of the Engineering Depart-
ment, and Mr. Wolle.

Ml". Wolle reported that he had, tried a number of times to r.at in
touch with Traffic Planner Lecouris, but had been unable as yet to check
with him in regard to traffic recommendations; further, that the" con-
tractor had come in to inquire about status of the plans and that he

had made statement to him concerning the Board's reluctance to pass on
the plan on account of the appearance of the proposed installation, par-
ticularly f,or one to be located along a tourist route in the Cleveland
high-quality motel-restaurant areao Mr. Wolle stated that he had learned
through this contractor of an existing station on Bay Drive in Largo
similar to what is being proposed. Photos of this other local area sta-
tion built on similar plans (taken by the Planner) were passed to the
Board. Suggestion was made for a Board re-study of the previously sub-
mitted. proposed service station ordinance to ~ive consideration to
appropriate revisions and possible incorporation of some design fea-
tures. After further review and discussion, it was vnterl unanimously

comment that there is an existing building on the site which will be
demolished, that the site plan conforms to regular setbacks for a
service station, and that driveways would be in accordance to ordi-

Captain Lecouris comment on traffic would be obtained and that he
would not, recommend disapproval of this station on the basis of ap-

ZONING CHANGE - DEL ORO AREA (continued from Mar 15/66) -

The Planner reported that since the previous meeting, representa-
tives had obtained 6 more signatories to their petition, and that Mr.
Conway had advised him by telephone that he was attemptinR to Ret a
yes' or no answer 'from the grove association, owners of the strip
across the northern portion of Del Oro Groves Subdivision (not at the
present time signatories to the petition). Mrg Wolle explained a map-
drawing prepared by the Planning office illustrating by legend vacant
lots, lots occupied by residences, and those properties whose owners
had joined in the petition for change of zoning. The Planner presented
an analysis of the percentages of owners represented in the request
as a total and in specific conti~uous areas of separate blocks along
certain streets. He pointed out in the area of San Bernadino and San

recommend approval of change, to R-IB zoning' for all that property
fe~ally de~cribed as subject of request in above aPElication ~ated

Ba~ Shore Blvd. and DelOra Estates, all located in Seco 9-Twp~ 29~.
~ange 16~) His motion was seconded by MrQ Harries. After an ex-
pression of willingness to concur with this recommendation on the part
of Mr~ Butler of the Zoning Committee, this motion was passed unani-
mously. It was agreed that it might be noted in recommendation for-
warded that the Board recognizes that some blocks in the two subdivi-
siens fall below being 50% represented~

SIGN STUDIES _,liB" Zone, Service Stations, PRS Zone - The Planner
conducted a review of a study chart distributed outlining revisions to
be proposed for the PRS Zone (copy of agenda record). This he ex-
plained was prepared based on his opinion that changes recommended to
relax restrictions for the R-4, R-M, B and Service Station signs re-
quired adjustment in other zones such ~hat there be successive, logical
gradation of certai,n requirewents relating to all zones. Some concern

ZONING CONFERENCE - TAMPA - APRIL. 20-23-, 1966 - The Chairman
announced this Annual Conference sponsored by the St. Association of
County Planning and Zoning Directors of Fla. and solicited attendance
by any interested members.
