M. by the Vice- Chairman, Mr~ Reade, who presided in the absence of the Chairman, who was participating in welcoming ceremonies for Fun 'N Sun visitors. Present. were Mcmbel~s Butler 9 Harries, ~ly lander, Iley, vlilliams and Galloway, Mr. Rettig of the Engineering Dept., and Mr~ Wolle" The minutes pf the meetings of March I, 1966, and March 8, 1966, were approved as submitted in wri tten summation -to each member~ ZONING CHANGE OR ESTATES- TO R-lB - DEL ORa GROVES G. H ND f. CL. TON B.. Mr.. Wolle read to the Board reason for request stated in applica- tion as: liTo conform. mot'e closely wi th existing deed restrictions".. The Planner presented application with information: (1) That deed restriction requirements were shown as follows: 10.000 sq~ ft.. lot minimum 80 ft" fron.tages 1,300 Sq. Fta minimum floor area 25 fta front setback 7-1/2 fto side and rear setback (2) That R-IB zoning most nearly conforms to the original re- strictions, but R-1B classification has higher setback re- quirements of 30 ft" front, 10 ft" side, and 20 ft. rear. (3) Owners of property.in these two subdivisions represented by Del Oro Groves and DelOra Estates Association have re- quested the change to R-IB~ " (4) That a petition beal'ing owners' signatures accompanied the application and he thought that 50 to 60% of owners were represented in the reques~, although a check of the list had not yet been completed~ A map delineating the boundaries of these subdivision areas \oJas stu- died. Charles Miller, owner of a duplex in Block I of Hibiscus Gar- dens, had instigated this let~er of inquiry concerning reported plans for the utilization of 4 lots in Block I for the erection of five apartment buildinss. Mr. Miller had expressed to Mrg Iley his con- cern, and the concern of other neighboring owners, that such build- ing would result in the crOWding of structures not compatible with the established character of residen~ial development in the block.
