It was learned plan was to include extension of community club and recrea- tional center (for R-M zone) and extension of residential platting up to the boundary of the Flaa Power easement~ With other information, of the two areas having frontage on US 19, for which Business zoning was being requested, one was for a Thayer Motors site (Area #4) and the other a service station site (Area #5). /. ....:......... Upon inquiry of the Chairman as to whethep applicant h~d con- sidered PKB zoning for these latter two areas, Mr. Wolle advised that he had consulted wi th ~1r. Blackburn at one time as to PKB zoning but was told that this would restrict prospective occupants as to busi- ness use setback. Mr~ Wolle expressed the opinion that PKB zoning would be difficult to obtain, particularly in view of the mixed character of uses in the highway strip to the south (Mobile Home, ser- vice station, etc.). Board opinion was that PKB zoning should be rec- ommended in that,some of the uses to ~he south CQuld be deemed tem- ~ ...-......., porary uses of p!'o{.Jerty which might reasonably be expected to change at a future date. CHAIRMAN'S ITEMS: Upon inquiry of Mr. Mylander as to present , I i l 1 , I 1 status of ,the proposed sign ordinance, the Planner reviewed differ- ences in the Board's original proposed copy and in the revised copy prepared by the City Attorne~ and gave an accourit of subsequent de- velopments. The Chairman advised of distribution of the revised copies by the City Attorney's office to different clubs, architects, the sign industry, etc. After some general discussion) Mr. Kruse re- quested that all Board members be furnished a copy of the ordinance as revised. PLANNER'S ITEMS - (a) L (b) Clearwater site for FPZA Conference. Special projects anticipated for Conference program. Mr. Wolle announced that he attended a meeting of the Board of Direc- tors of the Fla. Planning and Zoning Assn. in Qrlando, Saturday, Feb. 12th. At this time Clearwater was chosen to be the site of the 1966 , '..-'. Annual Conference to be held in December, This was the climax of the request presented to the site committee in Nove~ber of 1965.
