The meeting was call{'!d to order at 3:30 P. M. by the Chairmiln,
Mr. Kruse, who wan welcomed back afte~ a vacation trip. Present were
Members Butle'r, Mylander, Iley, Williams and Galloway. Mr. \volle,

Upon invitation of the Chai~man~ M~. Mylander made raference to a
newspape~ article from the BaltimoreeSun which he had b~ought in the
early part of the summer, containing account that the City Commission
of Ocean City Ma~lan~ had passed an ordinance (without a public hearing)
prohibiting all billboards within
its oity limits, acting on the
theory .that they had reached the point of saturation. He offered for
discussion the idea of a similar action by Clearwater as one alter-
native to a 'revision in controls.. In discussion of the ':proposed idea,
no definite conclusions were reached~

rE!nt negotiations between the membe~ship of the Associ.ation and Mayor
Tu~ev in solicitation of: the Conmission's cooperation to achie~e
permanent improvements for this waterfront, involving the installation of,
seawalls at the established bulkhead line and 'the filing in of areas be-
tween the seawalls and the existing shorelineQ It was 'repor~ed that
~here was a possibility tha~ the cost of such improvements (estimated
at $80,000 to $1.00,000) tl,ight be! included in, a p't~oposed revenue bond
issue for the Chestnut St~-Memorial Drive extent-ion. Mr. Butler read
to the Board ~ext of a resolution that had been forwarded by the
Association to the City Commission making request fo~ consideration of
this Edgewa1:er improvement projeoi:.. The resolution received favorable
comment. Chairman Kruse expressed the opinion that the matter of the
future widening of Sunset Pt. Road within the city limit's and the widening
bridge
