Present were members Kruse, Levi.son, Galloway, Reade and Driver,
Nick Rompon of the 3ngineeri.ng Department and Chuck Albury of the St.
Petersburg Times.
The minutes of the June 6th meeting were approved.
The Chairman reported that Captain Carey of the Traffic Division
of the Police Department had requested that, his meeting with the Board,
for a discussion of the fierce Street extension be postponed.
Mr. Levison reported that he had attended the City Commission meet-
ing on Aonday as requested by the chairman and when requested by the
City Commission he had reminded the Commission that the Planning Joard
suggested several months ago that the Lake nellview area was favored for
a park and playground by the Planning 13oard.
Chairman Kruse reported on the Florida Planning and Zoning Association
meeting which was held at Orlando and that the legislation which has
been proposed was not acted on favorably at the recent session of the
Legislature
Chairman Kruse presented the Board with a copy of the 'proceedings
of the sixth annual conference of the Ylori.da Planning and Zoning
Association which was held in Clearwater last October and it was moved,
seconded and passed that it be forwarded to the City Clerk to be filed
in the permanent records.
Messrs Reade and Levison reported on izlterviews i%hich they had with
two of the applicants for the position of Planning Director., The known
qualifications of a third applicant were also di sctzsac dc. It is expected
that advice will be recrAved shortly from the G ity i4anager as to official
considerate on of the 0applicant,s now on file for the position of Planning
Director.

requesting the reappointment of Messrs Aeade and Driver to the Joard
for three year terms.
At the request of the City 2nginaer, click Hompon initiated a .dis-
cession of the Eason Sever properties in thy: vicinity of Hercules Avenue
between Druid and Lakeview in relation to the highway system as shown
on master roadw-ay plan ItA 11 1« ? It was moved, aeconded and jpa. ssed that
1'47.•. Sever furnish the City engineer additional topographic information
including soil bxploration in the area adjacent to the proposed inter-
section of llercules; Lakeview and Roosevelt .ulvd. so that the Planning
Board can make a more detailed study of the development of the area.
It is quite probable that the disposition of drainage from the north
should be within a street dedication rather than in a separate easement,
A discussion was held regarding the legal status: of the Hoard, its
relation to the administrative functions of the City Government and its
duties and responsibilities. It was moved, seconded and pass$d that the
