Minutes of meeting Thursday July 121 1.956 in Plannillr; Board Office Present were members Kruse, Levison, Reade and Homer, City Engineer Lickton, and Chuck Albury of the St. Petersburg Times. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. The Chairman reported that Al Rogaro of the State Road Board will meet with the Planning Board July 26 to explain plans which the State Board has for state roads in Clearwater. A motion was passed that vacation absences from Board meetings during August be recognized and excused and that attendance constituting a quorum be reduced to three during that month. Because of expected absence of the Chairman and Vice Chairman, the Chairman appointed Mr. Levison Second Vice Chairman for the month of August. A motion was passed to rescind the action taken at the meeting of July 5, to resubmit to the City Commission the plan, "Proposed ~iemorial Park ,Terminal at the \vest End of the Cause\'layn and that a modified drawing be prepared and submitted to the City Commission to include an indication of public lands which have been placed under ~lease and the new alignment of Coronado Drive at the west end of the Marina; a.ll reference to parks, memorials and so forth are to be omitted jfrom this drawing. There was an informal discussion of the location of tho Airport in which the Chairman exrlained to the Board the statement he had made before the committSle of the Chamber of Commerce regarding the right- of-way for Keene Road and its relation to the Airport. The Chairman explained that the plan for the Coachman Park Parking Lot had been changed so that the present palms on ,the west side of the " , park will b'e moved to the east side of the parking lot and that new palms will be planted between the seawall and the proposed walk. <l~ July 12, 1956 Page 2 , Ordinance 632 was next discus~ed. The City Engineer stated that in his opinion Ordinance 632 is entirely satisfactory with two exceptions. 2. 1. Maximum length of blocks should be specified and/a provision should be included prohibiting the issuance of building permits ,for lots front- ing on half streets on subdivision boundaries. Mr. Lickton said that in the several years under which Ordinance 632 has been in .force that experience has been excellent and he believes that extensive revision of the ordinancn is inadvisable. After further discussi.on by members of the Board and the City Engineer a motion was passed that the matter be approached by the committee of the Board 1n one of two ways: 1. Prep- aration of a supplement to Ordinance 632 that will implement "M R 1ff but wii1 not involv'e any changes in the present Ordinance 632. 2. Prepare a proposed 'revision of present Ordinance 632 to include implementation .t:-;:) , '. of ,ttM.
