(~ f , Minutes of meeting 'rhursday July 51 1956 in Plannin~ Board Office Present were members Kruse, Norton, Homer, Reade and Levison, Nick Romron of the Engineer's Office and Chuck Albury of the St. Petersburg Times. Chairman Kruse openod the meeting at 3:00 P.M. The minutes or the previous meeting were approved. Memorandums written by Chairman Kruse regarding the Stevenson 'Creek Park (7-2-56) and the Coachman Park Parking Lot (6-29-56) were read. A brief discussion of the October meeting of the Florida Planning and Zoning Association took place. The west terminus of State Highway 6~ at the bridge on Memorial Causeway was then discussed. It was concluded by a motion made by Mr. Reade that the drawing entitled "Proposed Memorial Park Terminal at the '\Vest End of the. Causeway" dated November 5, 1955 be sent to the City Com- mission with the recommendation that it be submitted to the State Highway , ,......\ ,_/ Board with a letter of transmittal recommending this as the Planning Board' 5 :'",,) suggestion for a new bridge and a div ided highway. Mr. Norton seco nded the motion which was approved unanimously. When Chairman Kruse called for comnlittee reports, ~~. Homer reported that he has located a map prepared for Natural Gas distribution which is a population and population gro\~h map and said that it is in the posses- sion of the City. Mr. Homer described the Sanborn Map service and stated that the Sanborn Map should be available for the Planning Board. Chairman Kruse is to investigate their availability and use for the Planning Board. The revision of Ordinance 632 was again discussed and it was generally concluded that an effQrt should be made to prepare the ordinance so that it would have a high degree of flexihility regarding the duties of City Departments and City Officials with the City Commission having the power to change the assignment of duties and powers as it finds advisable from time to time. Mr. Norton seconded the motion which was passed unanimously. There was a discussion of the short course on Urban Planning, Mr. Rompon is to take at the University of Florida at Gainesville.
