The minutes ot the April 12th meeting were approved without change. Chairman Kr\lse reported that City ~mnager M1ddleton Imd requested that the Myrtle Avenue - Fairmont crossing of stevenson's Croek be restudied by the Board for the City ~hmager had received many protests of the proposed crossing bJ" Fairmont Avenue residents because of the increased volume of traf'fic which could be expected on Fairmont. This was discussed and several alternatives were suggested. It was decided to refer the matter to the Highway and Traffic committee of the Board for study and recommendations. ~~. Reade reported that he had invited Mr. Bohannon to be present at the Largo City Cownission meeting at which UK R 1" would be explained. Mr. Bohannon said that he would go if possible and if not he would arrange for one of the other CO~ldssionerB to attend. Chairman Kruse reported that the City Cowlussion had approved the changes adopted by the Board in "H R 1" and the change in Hyrtle Avenue from an arteI'ial to a collector street with an 80 foot right-of--way. It was reported that the City Manager had instructed the Building Inspeeti.on Department not to issue any building perDU ts for structures on MYrtle Avenue and that the issuance of the permit for the building at ~~rtle and Eldridge Street was an oversight and an error. Nextl Chairman Kruse introduced Mr. H. E,. Sever to the members of the Board. Mr. Sever presented a. plat of lanel bounded by J.fagnolia" " . , April 19, 1950 Page 2 t~~ Jeffords and Hercules and anothor plot located betweon Druid, Magnolia and lIoroules both of which he proposed to subdivide nnd which he will roquest the Board and the City Commission to approve. After lengthy discussion the Board requested Mr. Sover to present his plat with the following changes: The interseotions or Magnolia and Hercules should be square and no provision should be made to facilitate flow of trarrie acrol:is Heroules at Magnolia for ~Iagnolia on both sides of Heroules will be a neighborhood street on whioh traffio speeds should be kept low. The Board will require a 100 foot right-of-way for Hercules as Hercules already has a 100 foot right~or-way for most of its present length. There must be no offset at the intersection of Hercules and Druid tor ..~~I..... 'j " J .' I tt.~"t I:r ~ Herclues will be a through street and there should be no restriction to the rlow or trarric at its intersection with Druid. l~. Sever expressed reluctance to provide a 100 foot right-of-way tor Hercules but the members of the Board were insistent regarding this. He proposed to sell, at the present time, only those lots fronting Magnolia street and it was suggest.ed to him that be reser've the 60 foot neighborhood streets intersecting Mngnolial as lots, in order to avoid the eost of paving the streets at this time. Mr. Sever will present his plat to the Board again after making the changes required by the Board.
