Chai~an Kruse opened the meeting at 3:30 P.M.
Present were members Kruse.. Harries, Homer.. Levison, and Reade. Also
present. were Nick Rompon of the City Engineering Depar'tmen't, Hr. LicktOD,
City Engineer.. Joe Devlin of ~he Clearwater Sun.. a representative of the

The minutes or ~e last previous mee~ing.. held March 15th, were ap-
proved.
Chairman Kruse oalled on membero or oommittees for reports or progress
on their assignments. Mr. Homer.. who constitutes the Statistics and

Scheduling Committee, reported that he is finding it difficult to obtain
accurate information on whiCh to base forecasts of growth. He has solicited
Florida Power and Peninsular Telephone, the Chamber ot Commeroe, and the

Clearwater city u~1lit1e8. Only Florida Power appears promising as a
source of information.
A letter trom the Merchants Assooiation on Clearwater's traffic prob-
lems written by Mr. W. E. Eigenmann" President ot: the Clearwater Federation

of' Civic Clubs" was presented to each member for study. Mr. Eigenmann's
conclus~ons for the most part agree with those of ~e Planning Board.
Miss Dobson read a brief report by Mr. Harrios on the meeting on
planning in st. PetersblU'g which was attended by Hessrsl.. Kruse, Harries"
Reade, and Rompon.
Mr. Harries reported that the City' CO~ldsB1on had approved and accepted
"H n 1". This aroused lengthy Uiseussiol1 as to the proccuuro that should
be followed in the matter henceforth. There was some doubt as to whether

Commission. Thereupon the discussion terminated with the ~o~lowing motion
by Mr. Homer: That individual members or the Planning Board should arrange

neighboring communities. With Hr. Homor's consent Mr. Kruse amended the

aocompany Planning Board members to each o~ these meetings. Hr. Reade
seconded ~he motion which passed unanimously.

It was strongly emphasized that. in presenting the
plan Board members should make it. clear that. there is no intent to coerce

ne1gbbor1n~ communities to follow Clearwater in this matter and that only

fr~e and vdiuntary cooperation 1s hoped ~or.
Next there was discussion of width ot paving to be required of developers
when fulfilling the requirements of "M R 1". ~~. Levison moved that develop-

ers be requifed to pave no more than 30 ft. width and to residential street

specifications. Mr. Homer seconded the motion wInch passed lUlanimously.

Chairman"Kruse next invited Mr. Moore and Hr. Gunn to present the plat
~ of Hr. Moore's subdivision south of Druid Road in Section 13..29-15. Ex am-

Mr. Homer moved that the plat be recommended to the City Commission tor
approval U and when it is changed to conf"orm to Ordinance 632 and Plan-
ning Board requirements on perimeter streets, and that the developer
Should not be required to dedicate land tor the extension or Magnolia
street. Mr. Levison seconded the motion whioh passed unanimously.
A letter from Mr. Middleton was presented transmitting a request by
the City Commission that the Board consider a letter by Mr. p. C.
Spengeman on the Stevenson's Creek park. Mr. Levison moved and Mr. Reade
seoonded that the matter be re~errod ~o the Boardis committee on Parks to

study t~~ request and report at the next meeting or the Board. The motion
passed unanimously.
Chairman Kruse presented a request of the Oity Commission transmitted
by Mr. Middleton dated March 28th on matters concerning (1) Stevenson's
Creek and the Garden Clubl (2) a new ~iro station~ (3) and Hercules
Avenue. Mr. Levison moved that these matters be rererred to the Board's
committees on Statistics and on Highways with instruotions to stu~ the
problems and report at the next meeting of the Board.
The Meeting adjourned shortly atter 5:30 P.M.
