Members present were Messrs. Kruse, Norton, Muscarella, Iromer,

The secretary read the minutes or the June 9th meeting lo/hich Wel"e
approved as read.
Before the meeting opened, ~w. Lickton presented the map showing
proposed traf'fic arteries \ihich he had been asked to prepare at the
previous meeting. This lvas discussed antl studied ''lith great interest
by all those present.
Immediately af'ter the reading of the mi~1utes, :ro!r. Kruse requested
Mr. Rogero to outline the plnns of the state Road Board for State Itl@l-
ways that will serve Clearwater and prospective development of arteries

detail. Present concrete plnns of the State Road Board are confined
to the construction of a modern grade separation at the intersection of
Gulf-to-Bay and U. S. 19 and to the l'litlcIlin~ of' Dre,..., Street beginning

bad had much attention of' tIle joint meeting of the County Commission and
State liigllway el~neers, TueSday, May 24th.
Hr. Rogero feels strongly that the State should establish Cleveland
Street and Hamorial CaUSe\lay as a state JIiglllia,y. There is precedent 1'01"

terminal points. If the State does wldertake this, Tuder bridges will be

If the City will make one way streets of Ft. Harrison and Garden

In responso to an inquiry by Hr. ICruse" Hr. RogerD said that it
liould be very hel}l1'ul if. the Plo.nn:lng- Doa:rd l?Quld adopt a resolution
relluesting the State Board to establish Gulf-to-Bay" Cleveland St. and
Hemorial Causeway as a State lIiglum,y. It was docidocl to prepare such
0. resolution.
Hr. Kruse stated he considel"'ed it important to connect Dre,v to
Gulf-to-Bay with a diagonal that would intersect Gulf-to-Bay west of the
Cloverleaf.
~~. Homer stated that he believed we should obtain ~pprovu.ls of the
Planning Board map :from tho City COllUl1issioll and COW1t~r COllUaissioll before
discussing it with officials of neighboring Illmucipalities.
Hr. Hamel'" moved that the members of the City Commission be invited
to meet tlith the Doard Thursday June 23rd for inform,al di.scussiol1 of' the

Hr. Norton seconded the motion and it carried tIDi.l.l1i1l1ously.
ioIr. Homel" moved thu.t the Oi ty Attorney be asIced to prepare an outline
of all ordinance implementing the Planning Board map for simultaneous
discussion td th the City Commission. Hr. Nortoll seconded the motion
which carried unanimOUSly.
