Memorandum of Understanding
The Pinellas County S.W.A.T. School is going to be conducted May 15, 2006 through
May 26, 2006. Attached is the Memorandum of Understanding that will be signed off on
by all of the participating agencies. By assuming the administrative lead for the annual
school, the Sheriff's Office will be collecting a $50.00 fee per student to cover the costs
of unbudgeted items such as plaques, nameplates, and t-shirts for the students and the
cadre of instructors. Upon approval, the attached M.O.U. will be distributed to the
participating agencies for their review and approval.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is entered into by and between the
Pinellas County Sheriffs Office and the surrounding Municipal agencies. The
MOU becomes effective with the signatures of all parties.
1. Purpose
This MOU establishes the procedures and responsibilities of the Pinellas
County Sheriff's Office for SWAT training.
2. Conditions and Procedures
The parties agree to the following conditions:
A. The Pinellas County Sheriffs Office agrees to provide SWAT training
for Pinellas County and agencies outside the county as follows:
1. A minimum of an (80 hour) SWAT class per year starting May of
2006. Training will be provided on dates mutually agreeable to
all parties.
2. Classes must contain a minimum of 16 students with a
maximum of 32 students.
3. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office shall provide a minimum of
two SWAT instructors.
4. The Pinellas County Sheriffs Office shall provide range facilities
to be used during each class.
5. Training will be conducted using various areas throughout the
county.
B. As compensation, the surrounding Municipal agencies agree to assist
The Pinellas County Sheriffs Office and pay administration fees per
class.
Administration fee per class is $50.00 per student.
2. Provide a minimum of two instructors dedicated to the school to
form the base cadre for the 2 weeks of training.
C. The Pinellas County Sheriffs Office agrees to collect these fees from
the surrounding agencies on a class-by-class basis.
