INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT
FAMILY RESOURCES, INC.
AND
Clearwater Police Department
Purpose
This agreement has been developed by Family Resources, Inc. (FR) and Clearwater
Police Department (CPD) to provide a consistent means of assisting Children/Families in
Need of Services through a full continuum of services. This agreement is designed to
provide a coordinated, effective process to assist Children/Families in Need of Services at
the time of crisis and to assure referrals to appropriate services and agencies.
II. Statement of Agreement
A. Clearwater Police Department (CPD) agrees to provide the
following services:
1. To refer parents and/or youth in need of family intervention
services to Family Resources.
2. To establish and maintain adequate liaison services to assure
coordination of services between the two agencies.
To refer those youth who are runaway, truant or beyond parental
control, or in need of shelter.
4. Once youth are placed in shelter by Police Department or the
Juvenile Assessment Center, the Police Department will continue
to work with shelter staff in notifying parents/guardians who do
not have a telephone.
5. To be available to assist staff with youth who may be a danger to
self or others and to provide transportation to the mental health
receiving facility when necessary.

B: Family Resources, Inc. agrees to provide the following services:
Provision of crisis intervention counseling at the time of impact to
youth and their families referred for assistance. 0
2. Provision of short-term shelter services to Children/Families in
Need of Services, and non-person, non-violent misdemeanants that
are deemed appropriate by FR.
3. To provide services to clients referred without regard to race, sex
sexual orientation, economic status, color, creed, religion,
handicap, or national origin.
4. To establish and maintain adequate liaison services to assure
coordination of services between the two agencies.
To adhere to and maintain strict confidentiality of client
information and release of such information only with properly
executed release form signed by client, parent, or guardian.
6. Agrees to accept youth referred to the shelter by the Clearwater
Police Department providing that the youth meet admission criteria
established by Family Resources.
If anyone other than the police transport the juvenile to shelter,
shelter staff will verify that the juvenile is not listed as a runaway
through FCIC/NCIC (Fl Crime information Center/National
Crime Information Center). If the juvenile is a runaway, then
shelter staff will notify the reporting agency.
This agreement is entered into by both parties for the stated purpose of providing quality
services and may be revised by mutual agreement of both parties at any time.
