MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR SWAT TRAININGMEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING C0JP
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is entered into by and between the Pinellas County
Sheriff's Office (PCSO) and the Participating Agencies. The MOU becomes effective with the
signatures of all parties.
Purpose
This MOU establishes the procedures and responsibilities ofPCSO and Participating
Agencies for SWAT training.
2. Conditions'and Procedures
A. PCSO and the Participating Agencies agree as follows:
PCSO will provide one SWAT class for a minimum of (80 hours) on dates
mutually agreed by the majority of the Participating Agencies.
2. The SWAT class must contain a minimum of 16 students with a maximum of
32 students, enrolled on a first-come/first-serve basis. Where the minimum
enrollment is not met, PCSO is not under any obligation to provide the
specific class, as scheduled.
• 3. PCSO shall provide no less than two (2) SWAT instructors. Each
Participating Agency will also provide two (2) instructors for the eighty (80)
hours of training.
4. PCSO shall provide range facilities to be used during each class.
Additionally, training will be conducted using various areas throughout the
county.
Participating Agencies shall remit to PCSO $50.00 per student, per class to
cover administrative fees incurred. Such fees will be paid to PCSO prior to
the beginning of the class.
6. Prior to participation, each student from the Participating Agencies shall
execute and return the attached Informed Consent and General Release of All
Claims. The Participating Agencies acknowledge that students from their
respective agency are acting within the scope of their employment with that
agency.
