E f ` BE 11' RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Commission hereby establishes the following procedure as a Special Rule of Order for filling the vacancy on the City Commission: ':. 1. Each Commissioner may submit in writing his or her nominees for a:; = the position prior to the start of the June 13, 1995, special meeting. ' 2. The order in which the Commissioners will make their nominations will be determined at the meeting. 3. Each Commissioner may place the name of his or her nominee on the table for a vote, no second is required. 4. No discussion will be permitted on the nominations. pF4' r'? . _ f ! 5. The process will continue until an appointment is approved by vote,of three commissioners. ':. 6. If no appointment is made at the meeting of June 13, 1995', the discussion will be continued to June 15, 1995, Commissioners may submit new a ' names prior to'the start of the June 15th meeting. I have lived in Clearwater for six years. I have served as President of a Clearwater-based track club, Alpha Omega. I was on' the Board of Clubhouse ,Estates Homeowners Association. I am now on the Board of Guardian Angels Elementary School, in' Clearwater for its first five years, soon moving to Dunedin, but continuing to serve many Clearwater residents; I am chairman of its Policy Committee. I am now an Adjunct Professor in mathematics at St. Petersburg Junior College-Clearwater Campus, and I have been a Dean (university) and a Financial Aid Director (medical school). I have run' three successful businesses: a college financial aid consulting service; a tutoring service (50+ tutors covering all subjects and levels); a foreign student placement service (sometimes requiring delicate international negotiations). I have worked as a sub- contractor and contractor with the Superior Court of the District of Columbia in a First Offenders Program for youth., With these positions, 'I have gained broad experience in the area of human development and services, which I hope will allow me to serve well the people of Clearwater. I have taught English, Latin, and math part-time at various schools in Pinellas County. As a substitute, I was, asked by Countryside' High School to teach Latin; the Latin program was unfortunately being dropped, and certain students needed their second year to get State of Florida credit; I did this in.1993-94. While I am youth-oriented,' I also serve adults in a world-wide program to develop good marriages. My wife are in charge of the southern area of the U.S., from Texas east to the Atlantic Ocean. I was Member and Vase Chair, Human Rights Advocacy Committee, Pasco and Pinellas Counties, District 5. Members, appointed by the Governor, monitor HRS, assuring that rights of clients and employees of HRS are not abused. I also served on the board (VP) of Heart of Pinellas, a Christian men and women's business group.
