RESOLUTION NO. 01-14
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AMENDMENT OF THE
COUNTYWIDE FUTURE LAND USE PLAN IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE RULES CONCERNING THE
ADMINISTRATION OF THE COUNTYWIDE FUTURE LAND
USE PLAN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 10.(3)(b) of Chapter 88-464, Laws of Florida requires the
City of Clearwater Comprehensive Plan to be consistent with the Countywide
Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has identified one (1) area as identified in
Exhibit A attached hereto which has been identified on the Countywide Future Land
Use Map as needing to be amended so as to be consistent with the City of Clearwater
Comprehensive Plan's recognition of the Beach by Design plan area; and
WHEREAS, on February 15, 2001, the City of Clearwater approved Beach by
Design, a special area plan recognizing portions of Clearwater Beach as a Community
Redevelopment District;
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is requesting approval of Beach By Design, a
special area plan, pursuant to Section 2.3.3.8.4 of the Rules Concerning the
Administration of the Countywide Future Land Use Plan; and
WHEREAS, consistency between the City of Clearwater Comprehensive Plan
and the Countywide Future Land Use Plan map will be achieved through amendment to
the Countywide Future Land Use Plan map; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 88-464, Laws of Florida requires that all amendments to
the Countywide Future Land Use Plan map be initiated by a local government; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has determined that this one (1) amendment
is consistent with the purpose and characteristics of the proposed Countywide Future
Land Use Plan amendment; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the one (1) amendment to the Countywide Future Land Use
Plan as identified in Exhibit A, is hereby initiated and is requested to be made
according to the procedures identified in the Rules Concerning the Administration of the
Countywide Future Land Use Plan, Division 5.1.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
