Kennedy, Jr. ., City Manager Representing City Attorney ':~ ", The Mayor.called the meeting to order, and stated the purpoae of the.meeting was'to conaider and adopt Resolution #70-12 supporting and urging electors of " , Pinellas County to approve Chapter ,70-907 SpeoialActs of Florida 1970; 'establishing the Central Pinellas Transit Authority and providl'ng for a special ad valorem tax distriot. The City Manager explained that two referendums are required, with the first' to be held TueBday, September.8th, to ratify or not the Act' itsel.r,and' another to be required at a later date to approve the tax requirement. The question arose as to the effective date of a law requiring compulsory examinations for drivers I licenses whioh date is inoluded in the resolution. Commissioner Hall moved that Resolution #70-72 be passed and adopted with the appropriate date ohange to be made if necessary regarding the effective date of compulsory examination law and the appropriate offioials be authorized to execute it.
