The City Clerk read the following report relative to the preparation of the voting machines for the election: Honorable City Commission Clearwater, Florida Gent 1emen : December 15, 1952 In compliance with the City of Clearwater Code, 1950, I have this date, in company with the City Treasurer. inspected the voting machines as prepared for the City Election of December 16th. The dials of the machines were found to be set at 000 and the machines properly prepared and sealed. Commissioner Crown moved that the report on the official election returns showing the ratification by referendum on Ordinance 626 and Ordinance 627. the election of..Herbert M. Brown as Mayor-Commissioner and the election of W. E. Strang, Jr., and John W. Bates as Oommissioners be approved and the results be declared official. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Blanton and carried unanimously. The Mayor suggested that the Commission invite some member of the Ministerial Association to be present at each meeting of the Commission for the purpose of offering the opening prayer. The other members of the Commission expressed their approval of the suggestion. The Mayor instructed the Clerk to prepare for his signature a letter addressed to Dr. Henry W. Blackburn inviting the Ministerial Association to have one of its members present at each meeting.
