" .j '. i ~ The Mayor called the meeting to order. It was moved by Commissioner Drew that the minutes of the regular moeting of December 18th and the spec~l meetings of December 20th, 23rd and December 26th be approyed in accordance with the copy thereof furnished each member in writing and that their reading be dispensed with. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Turner and carried. The City Attorney advloed the Commission that Lot 27 of Lloyd-White- Skinner- Subdi vision oould be purchased from r.lr. H. S. Mott of Tampa, for $2,000.00; this lot being the only lot separating the two parcels acquired fram Mr. L. S. Ruder. He reoommended that it be purchased and that title insurance be obtained. It was moved by Commissioner Turner that the City Attorney'~ recommends tion be accepted. The Illotion was seconded by Commissioner Brown alnd carried unanUnously. The Clerk read a letter addressed to the Commission by Mr. W. S. Shannon, Chairman of the Cit1 Flanning Board, calling attention to the fact that tenuS' of several m~berB of tbBt board have expired, and assuring the Co~ission of the board's availibility and cooperation~ On a motion by Commissioner Brown, which was seconded by Conullissioner Drew and carried, the letter 'WaIS accepted. . , . ,~(. ,}f ..;~' iff. The City Attorney administered the oath of office to Mayor-elect Herbert M. Brown and to Comrnias'ioners-elect H. M. Blanton and Garland D. Lynn. Com- missioner ~lrner and retiring Commissioners Casler and Drew, made brief talks, as did Commissioners-elect Blanton and Lwnn. On a motion by Commissioner Turner, which was seconded by Commissioner Drew and carried, the old Commission now ad- journed. i 1- , , ~i " .- Mayor-Commissioner Brown now called the meeting to order and addressed those present relative to the acoomplishments of the past two years and the pro- blems facing the new Commission. He thankou the retiring Commissioners for their oooperation. It was moved b! Commissioner Turner that the appointment of a Commissioner to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Con~jssioner Drew be deferred. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Lynn and carried. The Mayor submitted the name of Mr. Charles E. Ware for consideration a.s an appointee ror City Attorney and invited the other Commissioners to make suggestions. Commissioner Blanton moved that Mr. Clmrles E. Ware be appointed City ~ttorney. The motion was seconded by Commissioner L~nn and carried. It was moved by Oommissioner Turner that Mr. Arthur VI. Jordan be appointed Judge or the ~iuniclpal Court. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Blanton and carried. Commissioner Blanton moved that Mr. Charles M. Phillips Jr. be appointed Associate Judge of the Municipal Court. The motion was seconded by Commissioner ~nn and carried. Gentlemen: At the December 1950 meeting or the City Planning Board, I was instructed to advise you the. t the tenus of the memberI!' of the Board who were appointed for one year, have expIred. They are Mr. William F. Rehbaum III and Mr. Jaok Russell. The third one year member~ Mr. William Oertger, died during the past year. The members of the City P1annIng Board also wish to oall the attention of the l~ew City COIml1ission to the fact that the Planning Board is available at all times to study any projects the Commission may see fit to refer to them.
