Bennett, City Manager Olearwater, Florida. Dear Mr. Bennett: !his w111 acknowledge receipt ot your letter June 19, addressed to our Mr. Norton, with reference to the possibility of open1n~ MisBour~ Avenue across our trscks. It ia our desire to cooperate with you and your city to the fullest extent possible; however, we would not like to give you the right-Qf.~y tor the following reasons: 1. The Street would cross our main line~ storage treck~ passing track and would require the relocation ot an industrial switcb to get it out o~ the street. 2. This crossing would nullify to a great e.xtent the llse for which the storage and passing track were built. 3. Cars 1n the stoI'elge traok and trains in the passing track would make the approaoh to the iua1n line blind to motorists as the passing track and the storage track: are located on opposite sides of our main line. ~. The main line 1s approximately 18 inches higher than the storage am pass track, Whioh would make a very bad cross1.n~. 5. There is a paved cross ing approxinla tel:v 500 t"eet south (Greenwood. Avenue) and: another approximately 1,000 feet north (Betty Lane), which are connected by paved streets on both sides of our railroad. With the above in viow, I hope you w~ll withdraw your request.
