There is a tract of land on Maple street, bounded by North Greenwood, Missouri
and Eldridge, ~here the Sea Board Railroad hEts a freight siding, that is used
for manufacturing and c011.lr,ercial purposes. Due north and adjacent to this
tI'!;l.ct is additi onfil l)rOperty ov..ned by the city, \\here at the present time an
Armory is being constructed, una. v.here tl1ere a~'e also plans for a Youth Center,
club buildings, and etc. Thel'e is also a balanc:e on this IJrOperty that we feel
should be preserved by the city of Clearvittter tl.S v,ell as the parcel of land due
east. of Green Field tha t is !lOV, used for athletics. This land is bordered by
Seminole Gtreet Oll the south, Palmetto on the nO.L'th and rv:issouri 011 the east,
and the athl.etic field on the Viest.
Our recommendation is that the City hold the above mentL.:med properties because

Leland Drew of the city of C1ear~ater, together ~ith Mr. Darwin
Frank, President o~ the Merchants' Association, appeared before the
Boal'd and the city officials discussed the matter of the County re-
conveyinf'; bock to t.he r:it~' the lot adjacent to t.he City Police
Station, now being used ns a Farmers' Market. City Manager Bennett
staten the t he h9.d looked up the record Rnd found that the eit y
deeded the lot to the County for jail purposes And later ~ave the
County another conveyance to the lot \'iithout restrictions4 The
committee \H,S advised by the Ch~irman that the County hed c8used
the lot at j,\rospe ct and Court street to be fi lled vd th dirt from
the neVv Jail site so that it could be used 80S a Farmers' Market
and suggest eO. tha t the Ci ty should get this lot in shape Ii nd move
the market to ttLe new site. The CO Jilmi ttee MtS l:11so realinded that
the Ci ty .hu d agreed to l)la ce mar 1 OIl 1'1'ospect street so as to mak e
another approach to the uarket site.

There is �. tract of land on Pfaple Street, bounaed by North Greenwood, PJ�issouri
an�i ETdridge, where the Sea Board Railroad has a i'reight siding, that is u.sed
Por manu2'acturing and cor::r�ercial purPoses, Due north and a�' jacent to this
tract, is additio�al property o�vned by: thP city, where at the present time an
tirnory is being constructed, attd where there are alsa pl�ns ior a i*outh Cemter,
club buildin�s, and etc. There is also a balance on this propexty that we YaeZ
should be preserved by the City of Clearwater as v�elZ as the parcel of land due
east of Green �ield that is now used �ar athletzcs. This land is bordered by

� conveyin�; hack to the City the lot adjacent ta the City k�olics
Station, n�w heing used �s a F'srmers' I�'farket, Ci�y Iv,ana�;er Benuett
stated that he had looked u� the record and �ound �hat the Gity
deeded �he lot to th� County for jail nurposes and later �ave the
Count3 another canveyance ta the lot with�ut restrictions. The
comrnittee wr�s advised by the Chairman th�t the County had caused
the l9t at i`rospect ann Court Street to be filled �Yith dirt from
the liew jail site so that it could be usad as a i+armers' INarLet
and suggestea that the Gity should get this lot in shape a.nd move
the rLarket to trie r_av� site, The conm;ittee rras also reminded that
the City had agreed to place marl on Prospect Street so as to make
another approach to the raarket sitE.
