CITY COIUMISSION 3EL'TING

To the Hnor a bl e?4ayar
And Gentlemen of the Ccmmission

As a taxpayer or Cleaxvater far more than hiriy-iive

future +elfre oi' our city.
T Pror1y stress thc usr*ene5= of the matter I am &baut
to ropose, I deire to call Saur attention to : com.munication on
tLis subjct, in tha form of a latter aadresscd to Coloncl lear-

In that communication I stressed, among other thi;s,
the need ior a street improvement proram i;hat rvould tielp relieve
the terriblE trafic bottleneck thai; exists in Cleartiai;er; the
ned of a sufiicientl5 elarged tiai;r system; tne need mving

thc ci ty ,
klrads it has becn demnsttzted thet Clearwater must
do sometliing about ,its street inprovement rram, r.nd quick.
Citizens irom a large portion of Clearwateris best
residentisl areas are emplaining hitterly, and justy so, bout
the offensiveess :f the incinerator anc city dump.
Already c itiz ens ha ve been he ard to c om>lain abo ut the
dangerousl3r low water pressuro in some sections oY th city, duc
to our inadequate water system for pressnl; necds, to say nthing
oY expandng needs in our raidly groving city.
These Are nly a few of the nost i.mperative needs.
It vill take mony , tax money , to relieve all thes
and many more nPeds. I say tax money, oecause all the loose ta]1s .
we have heard recently ar,ou state aid to municipalities is just
so much bunk. The state itself is Pacins a large deicit; the
Governr says 53 millions must b raised. ^10 hope Yor Governmcnt
aid to nunicipalities is donnright silly.
