Mr. Boyd A. Bennett
City Manager
Clearwater, Florida
Dear Mr. Bennett:
Your letter of ll.:'arch 8 regarding the plac ing of a
traffic sienal at the intersection of Cleveland street and
Myrtle Avenue has been referred to this Division through Mr.
W. A. Kretzert, State Maintenance Engineer.
Since the City of Clearwater has a popUlation greater
than those required by la~ to obtain permission to erect such
installe, tions und the intersection involved being vii t .hin the
incorporuted limits of Clearwater, my interpretation is thut
it is not an essential requirement that approval be 0 btained
of the state Road Department.
However, ii' the City of ClearVlater would like an
investigation made tit the intersection of Cleveland street
and J.\'1yrtle Avenue to determine if a traffic signal is \t'~arr8nted
this Department wiil be more than Glad to cooperate.
Very truly your s,
