CITY OF CL xk1?JhT ? t, FLOiiID?'?. Clearwater has practically doubled its population during the past ten years, yet very little has been done by the city to take care of the added traffic conjestion created by this increased population, with the result that it has become not only a great inconvenience to our citizens and visitors, but also very dangerous during the cro?vded season. Unless something is done it will not be many years before practically all of Clearwater's downtown streets will have to be restricted to one-way traffic, which not only works a hardship on the citizens, but is bad for business. ?? stroet program should embrace widening mouth Osceola :venue from fierce Street to Haven Ctreet, and to open C©urt Street east to connect with Gulf-to-Bay Blvd., thus giving traffic from Clearwater Bauch an ot?;?ortunity to travel east toward Tar?ipo v?ithout having to proceed past the traffic lights on Cleveland Street; to open 1•;yrtle lwenue earth to a point where it connects with Garden .venue, near the Sunburst ?,partmants and south frori the cemetery to Woodlawn t,venue, thus giving Clearwater a new through street fro?u the "V" at the Sunburst t?partments to the point where ?'lyatt Street intersects the Clearwater-Largo Road; to opon 14iissouri avenue from Cleveland Street to the south city limits to connect with the county road which continues south into Largo. (E? good portion of this road is already opened and paved) Continue to vaiden Garden r=venue from th.e point where the wide payement stops, north to the "V" at the Sunburst hpar?tments. Build a dam and roadway across the narrow portion of Stephenson's Creek along the east side of the ><?.C.L, bridge. Connect this road with llouglas avenue along the Sunset Point Park and south alo.?g the ?..C.L. xailway to the point where it would intersect myrtle t,venue. This operation could also provide a large fresh water lake in the present lagoon extending almost to 1'inebrook Sub,livision, which would be a treIliendous asset to Clearvv??ter. The foregoing program was submitted to the city commission, by the Clearwater Board of itealtors, about two or three dears ago but nothing was done by the former commissioners. Four years ago I purchased my home here and hope it is in order to offer this suggestion. One way streets in Clebr?vuter Osceola north from Haven. Haven I'lest from Ft.
