11he Ci ty Commission of the Oi ty of Cleurwater met in regulur session the
evening 01' J~pril 19, 1948 at 7:30 iJ.M. in the City Hall VJith tho following
members present: J. O. Houze, Guy L. Kennedy, Lelund F. Drew, J. H. Crane.
Absent: Hurry D. bureeunt. .Hlso present: Boyd J~. Bermett, City MBnager,

The meeting wos culled to order by ~uyor Houze and the minutes of the
previous meeting was re~d and upproved, ufter the City Clerk had been
directed ut the instanoe of Conuaissioner Drew to change the minutes to
show the l>robuble cost of' the sea VJull on Cletlrwuter Deach to be ~~1200.00
instead of ~2000.00.

zoning hurdship cuse and Qu't!lorizing C:J three foot set back on lot 7, block 35,
1Ianaalay Subdivision. There was no one present to object to the zoning change;
however, 0i ty 1I1c.llluger BelUlett steted thut Ihr. ,L-almer had objected to the
change on generul principles, but that Mr. ~8lmer wus not in any way effected
by this proposed chunge. It was moved by Commissioner Crane, seconded by
Conunissioner DrevJ and unanimously carried that the resolution be adopted.
.t1. resolution was reud by the City I,raneger, requiring certain property
owners to clean their lots of weeds ond underbrush. It was'moved by
Commissioner Grane, seconded by COmrrUssioner Keruledy and unanimously carried
thut the resolution be odopted.
The City Manager recommended the constructi on of 0 sea wall approximl:Jtely
85 i'eet in lene;th und coating ur.:>und ~~l?OO.OO, along the east side of
Mandalay Boulevard and immedi8tely south of the Yucht Club property. . It was
moved by Cor~issioner Orane, seconded by Commissioner Kennedy and unanimously
curried that the recomrnenul:ltion of the Oi ty l..:anager be approved c::nd that the
City proceed to have the woll constructed.

sites as probuble locations for a Girl Scout Council Building, 1. 20 foot

fronting on the Hest side of Osceola l~venue just north of the Gulf Filling

thut his CODlmittee be not dissolved us they vJish to continue their efforts
toward helping the Scout 'Jouncil find a suitable location; permanent if

zoning hardship ctase and authorizin� a three foot set back on lot 7, block �5,
rNTandalay Subdivision. 'Phere vaas no one present to objact to the zoning change;
however, City bienager BerLnett stated that �r. ralmer had objectad to the
change on general principles, but t�at Nir.'i:almer was not in any way e�fected
by this proposed change. It was moved by Commissioner Crane, seconded by
Commissioner �reva and unanimously carried that the resolution be adopted,
