On the request of Mr. Crene, the minutes of Ootober 17 were amended to show that he voted to grant the Florida-Kentucky Liquor License ofter oeing advised by the City Attorney thut he should vote either for or aeuinst it as chllirman. City l~ttorney Smith reported that clwnges made in the zoning law since the last referendum would have to ~e incorporated into one ordinance and submitted to the electors in December election for approval. Chief Elliott reported that the county authorities were reedy to oooperate with the City in establishing Cl traffic light a t Sunset Road and Douglas Avenue ;~s soon as the cost could be ascertained. j .J 1 I 'I .. '1 'I 1 1 J 'j 1 } ,j 1 i I In consideration of th e application of James Yeatropoulos and James Meges to erect on awning and IDbrquee in their pIece of business, a letter was read from the City Builctl11g Inspcc t.or J".,.nclerson reporting that Art 2201.2 of the Southern Standard Building Code stetes that awnings and marquees must be attached to a building, have a ten foot clearance from the sidewalk and occupy not more than 2/3 width of the sidewalk. Mr. Joe York questioned os to how this law wou1hd a1'fect those awnings and marquees installed prior to the a~option of the Southern Stbndard Building Code. He was informed that the l8~ wes not retroactive. Oommissioner Crone moved that the application be denied, it was seoonded by Comn~issioner V{ells and carried. The City Manager reod a resolution to clean certain lots, it was moved by Commissioner Sareeant, seconded by CommisElioner Johnson and carried. hl1 commissioners voted "Aye". , , '1'he City 1:anu[Ser L1ade a recomrr..endation for the construction of 400 1'eet of two inch water line and 400 feet of l~ inch gas 1 ine on Aloha Lane a nd Sheridan lioad. Commissioner Sargeant stated that since these two lines would serve residents outside of the City limits, he was oP110sed to putting in such service lines at the City's expense. The Mayor appointed a committee to consist of Cotmiss ioner Sargeant and Wells to check on the above matter and report back to the Commission. On the motion of Comrnissioner Sargeant, which was seconded by Couwlissioner Crane, the CO[~lissiono approved the transfer of the Taxi license of Charles Caroll to George A. Vlare. The City Clerk was instructed to check into any unexpired taxi permits. City Manager Bennett colled attention to the fact that at the present rate of expending, the l)olice department was exceeding the amount budjeted l'or the depElrtment.
