Honorable City Commissioners,
Clearwater, Florida.
Gentlemen:
Members of the Elk's Playground Nothers' Club, at its regular montnny.
meeting on June 25, 1947, voted, unanimously, to request the City to open a
dri veway which w cu Id run Vlest, f rom ~outh Oso eo Ie, ulone; the North boundary
of the City Pf.:Irk approxim;ltely 130 feet, and conneot with the driveway which services
the Eltk' s J.Jluygro und Nursery Schoolnfrom Pi eroe Street, this leaving an exit
from too playground Nursery Sohool.
All of the mothers feel that this is necessary in order to allevtate
traffic congestion and danger to the ohildren whioh now exists beoause of the
dead end drive which servioes the Nursery School from Pie roe Street.
Dtn'ing inclement weather it is desirable to bo able to hring the small
children to the door of the l~ursery School, and there are appro:xiIl18tely 30
automobiles whiolr erri ve et the same time to load l:lnd unlood -(ille children, anll
if the driveway is conneoted, as suggested above, it will 911rdnete a great
deal of congestion, confusion and pos9ible d~nger to the Children attending t~
sohool.
On behalf of the rcembers of the 1!;lks Playgroulld Motners' :,Club ~ we
respeotfully uree that the City tt:lke the neoessur,y steps to l)ut in the oonneoting
roa dway a s reg uested.
Respectfully subm,itted,
