has applied to you to have the zonin~ chan~ed on two lots on Ed~ewater
Drive near Sunset Point Road, so as to permit him to erect business buildin~s.
It is the aim of this Association to enhance the beauty of Edrewater Drive,
potentially one of the most beautiful in the State, and to make it comparable
to tha t part of the Dr:!. ve in Dunedin; also, to make "Clearwater's F'ront Door"
a beautiful and pleasi~ entrance. It is primarily a residential street, and
should, by all means, be maintained a~ such. This cannot be done if one is
pennltted to take advant~re of the surroundin~ beauty to further his own ends,
by the erection. o~ unsi~htly business bui1dinrs. The fact that a ras station
and store is now located at Ed~ewater Drive and Sunset Point Road does not
'," chaI1fle the picture. It is a distinct detriment to surroundinp- property, and
was erected contrary to zonin~ restrictions.
We wish to rep, ister a vigorous protest to the chan~inr of zonin~ restrictions
in this case, and ask for your cooperation in our endeavor to mal{e and keep
this area a beautiful, convenient and happy place to live.

In reference to Lots 2 and 3 Sunset Point, Plock A, Subdivisbn.
,. I purchased these lots years a~o, as they were unrestricted, and later
had a clay tile fillin~ station built at considerable expense.
I believe about 1937 the Zonin~ Board zoned this,property a~ainst business.
I have been unable to ~et anyone interested in the property for a residence, as
it is very undesirable, beinr located directly acro~s the street from a Hotel and
also beinp. next to a Fillinr Station and ~rocery store adjoinln~ it on the south.
This neip'hborhood needs other types of' business in tbi s section and
several Real Estate Dealers have approched mo on this. In fact, I have turned
down several propositions, as it was zoned against business.
I will rrreatly appreciate it i~ you will r.ive me this chanITe in Zoninp:

Dear Sirs:
The undersi~ned, owners and operators of fully and completely

As you know, this ordinance was voluntarily consen ted to by

The circumstances have completely chan~ed and Clearwater Beach

persons servlnr the public. We foel now tngt business is levelinr out and
we are all laborinr under a considerable/; tnat we should be permitted on
Sundays to serve mixed drinks with oUr' food from twelve noon until closinp.
It should be unders tood tha t th.t s I'eque st is only made on behalf
of those businesses in town that serve rep'ular dinner's and are equipped
for a complete restaurant business and not merely for' sandwiches.
We therefore respectfully I'equest and peti tion that you enact
a new ordinance, or make the necessary chanrr8s in the existinF ordinance,
in order that the above may be accomplished as s~~edily as possible.
Assurin~ you that if you do thls we will cooperate with the City

has applied to you to have the zonin chan*ed on two lots on desvater
Drive near Sunset Point Road, so as to permit him to erecL business buildir_ts.
It is the e:m of this Association to enhance the beauty of Edetivater rive,
potentially one of i;he most beautiful in the State, anct to make it comparable
to that part of the Drive in Dunedin; also, to make 'Clearwaters Front Door"
a beautii'ul and pleasin entrance. It is primarily a residential street, ar_d
should, by all means, be maintained as such. This cannot be dane if one is
permitted to take advanta-e of the surroundint beauty to further his own ends,
by Lhe erection.of unsiahtl; buslness buildins. The fact that 8: as station
and stare is now located at Eaewater Drive and Sunset Foint Roa:d does not
chan.e the picture, It is a distinct detriment to surxoundin property, and
was erected contrary to zonin restrictions.
1Ne rish to re*ister a viorous protest to the chan^in of zonin restrictions

Gentlemen;
In reference to Lots and 3 Sunset Point, Rlock A, SuUdivin.
I ourchased these lots years ar•o, as they were ranrestricted, and later
had a clay tile fillinr station built at considerable expense.
I believe abou 1937 the Zoninr ard zoned this.property m*ainst business.
I have been unable to et anyone interested in the property for a residence, as
it is very undesirable, beint* located ciirectly across the street from a Hotel and
also baintr. next to a Fillin Station and rocery store adjoinin^ it on i:he south.
Thi:s neiahborhood neads other tyEes of business in tbis scctl.on and
